Wyatt Frieson, NAACP chapter president, said the drive will include a survey to identify talents and skills existing within the Negro community. In addition, a career day program for Negroes and other minority groups will be held within the next few months, he said. Frieson said the program was developed by representatives of the Bank of America, Pacific Telephone, Arrowhead Products of Los Alamitos, Hunts Food and Industries of Fullerton and the NAACP. A second meeting is planned for Aug. 17 at which time additional firms will be invited to participate, he announced. Frieson said the survey of existing skills will be conducted Utt Says Commies To Blame by a local four-year college as a means of retaining objectivity. "I think it is significant that we can develop this sort of program in Orange County quietly and in a spirit of co-operation while other parts of the nation are involved in riots and violence," he added. Computer Selects Ideal Girl 'Miss Formula' Newest Queen LOS ANGELES (UPI) — A 20th century Cleopatra — "Miss Formula"—has been created on paper by an electronic computer in a dramatic visual demonstration of the thinking machine's ability. Scientists and engineers at California Computer Products Inc. of Anaheim, Calif., worked for a week on what the perfectly formed feminine beauty's statistics should be. When the statistics were agreed upon, one of the firm's Cal Comp. plotters was programmed to react by processing the figures and spewing forth a finished drawing of the female fatale's figure. Utt Says Commies To Blame WASHINGTON (UPI) — The "invasion" of Mississippi by civil rights workers was planned by the "international Communist conspiracy," according to Rep. James B. Utt, R-Calif. Utt made the charge in a statement released Tuesday in answer to what he said were "many letters from anxious parents demanding protection for their children who are engaged in civil rights activities in Mississippi." The conservative Republican said he did not wish to "impug the patriotism, dedication, or sincerity of many of those engaged in this activity, but I do believe that they are doing the sinister work of forces alien to America." "The cunning Communists have been able to entice fine Americans to do their work," he said, "but the guiding hand is still the Communist conspiracy." Juniors Plan Night at Opera In Laguna Bowl An invitation has been extended to 17 Junior Women's Clubs of Orange County from the Juniors of Laguna Beach to join them for a gala evening at the Festival of Opera in Irvine Bowl. The Junior night at the opera will be held Saturday evening. Scientists and engineers at California Computer Products Inc. of Anaheim, Calif., worked for a week on what the perfectly formed feminine beauty's statistics should be. When the statistics were agreed upon, one of the firm's Cal Comp. plotters was programmed to react by processing the figures and spewing forth a finished drawing of the femme fatale's figure. Company officials hired a hotel room Tuesday and invited newsmen and newswomen to meet "Miss Formula." In went the figures, around went the gears and out came a nearly life-sized sketch of the 20th century Cleopatra. What's she like?: — Height, 5 feet, 6 inches. — Weight, 115-118 pounds. — Dimensions, 36-24-36. — Incidental figures, neck 12 inches; thighs 20 inches; knees 12.5 inches; calf 13 inches and ankles 8 inches. Company officials said the machine also has more valuable applications, such as visual display from computer information of weather maps, road designs, oil field findings, molecular structures, medical substances and brain waves.
