Men in Service WILLIAM T. TOPLIFF, son of Mrs. Thelma M. Topliff of 1622 Juno Ave., has graduated from recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego. ARMY PRIVATE DAVID C. GREER, son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Greer Jr., 142 W. Brookdale, Fullerton, participated as a member of the assault forces in Exercise WEST WIND, a joint Army-Navy-Marine Corps amphibious operation, on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai. The 18-year-old soldier is a 1963 graduate of Fullerton Union High School. ARMY PFC BRUCE R. FLOOD, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E Flood, 1530 S. Lovering, Fullerton, completed a German language course conducted by the 4th Armored Division in Germany. CHARLES W. DITCHEY, airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon H. Ditchey of 178 Guinida Lane, has graduated from School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. RONNIE W. BELL, seaman apprentice, USN, son of Mrs. Dorris C. Reedy of 10621 Gilbert St., visited Mombasa, Kenya, while serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard operating in the Western Pacific with the Seventh Fleet. Regiment near Fulda, Germany. WILLIAM J. WARD, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Ward, 2370 Broadway, was promoted to private first class in Korea while assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division. Ward attended Anaheim High School. NAVY LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE WARD L. WINTER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland L. Winter of 622 Velare, has received his "Wings of Gold" and designation as a Naval Aviator and Helicopter pilot. Lieutenant Winter is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. RONALD C. VOLTZ, JR., radioman seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Voltz of 1137 Paradise St., and MICHAEL T. MILLER, boilerman third class, USN, son of Mrs. Bernice I. Miller of 1116 West Broadway, recently returned to San Diego, aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Hoel completing a tour of duty with the Seventh Fleet in the Far East. Five exciting nights with the big bands will inaugurate "Disneyland After Dark — 1964" beginning Saturday, June 13. With the big bands of Duke Logan, Benny Goodman, One King, Count Basie and Elliott Brothers playing each at throughout the Magicdom, the five-night premiere will be the greatest collection of big bands in history. Disneyland's Big Band specialists have been growing steadily over the past three years, but in the past have been added to one - night special events. This year, however, all five acts will be on hand for five nights with regular Disneyland summertime prices prevailing. Special Starlite Ticket Books will be available. The event heralds the biggest summer of entertainment in Disneyland history. Following Big Band premiere, the event will feature nightly dance and special musical entertainment throughout the summer. Exchange Clubs Plan Hootennanny The biggest all-star hootenanny ever held in Orange County will be staged Friday, May 22, in the Santa Ana Bowl by the Exchange Clubs of Orange County, with the proceeds going toward the establishment of youth employment centers. Lloyd Hewett, of the North Orange County Exchange Club, Fullerton, and general chairman of the event, said the hootenanny will headline Joe and Eddie and feature such outstanding attractions as the Womenfoik, Katie Hartman, the Cherry Creek Singers, the Yachtssmen and the Golden State Bluegrass Boys. He said proceeds from the program, titled "Hootenanny '64," will be used to establish youth employment centers in key areas of the county served by the ten local Exchange Clubs.
