Seventeen Anaheim businessmen affiliated with a new service club, Cosmopolitan International, have organized and are meeting Tuesdays at the Sam-pan Restaurant. Founded in 1914, the club has been centered in the South, East and Midwest, with chapters in Mexico and Canada. General headquarters are in Fort Worth, Tex. Objectives are the building of a better, more intelligent and more serviceable citizenship; the fostering and nurturing of the cause of good citizenship of the youth of the world; the development and appreciation of high social, business standards; the awakening of the public conscience to a high idealism in life; a fuller appreciation of spiritual values; and the sincere performance of acts of good will and mutual cooperation. As a rule only one member from each business and profession is chosen for membership. However various divisions of the business are made into separate classifications. Anaheim chapter is operating under a temporary charter. A formal charter can be issued only after the membership reaches the minimum of 30. Those who have already affiliated with Cosmopolitan International's Anaheim chapter include William Adams, N. Spencer Black, Robert Fogel, Jim Gagne, William F. Koleto, John C. Lytle, James E. Mauck, George V. Mezei, Paul J. Niehouse Sr., Lee B. Nielsen, Parent - Teacher Association chairman in Fourth District, are asked to send the Extension Department of CCPT 8 x 10 photographs depicting PTA council and association projects to be exhibited in the 1964 State Convention Extension Department display. Please include a brief account of the project and identification of the unit or council and district. They are interested in all levels — elementary through high school. Do not send pictures of speakers unless they show workshops or conferences or point up the initiation of a project. They will not be returned as they are to be mounted. Hillecrest Blvd., Inglewood. The deadline is March 14. Three Honorary Life Memberships were presented at the annual Palm Lane Parent Teacher Association Founders Day meeting. Recipients honored for their outstanding service to children were Rabbi Aaron J. Tofield, Temple Beth Emet; Rev. Robert E. Wobrock, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; and Mrs. Faye Hysom, secretary of Palm Lane School. Making the presentations were members of the HLM committee, Mrs. Murray Sturmer, Fred Diehl, and Mrs. Ivyl McKeown, chairman. On February 5, 1957, the first membership was presented to Wilfred Edelbrock, principal, and to date 19 memberships have been awarded by Palm Lane PTA. Each $25 has been paid to the CCPT Student Loan or Scholarship and Fellowship Fund.
