Men in Service Assurance of "home with the family for Christmas has been announced by the U. S. Army for those enlisting in December. The plan offered by the U. S. Army Recruiting Service allows an enlistee signing up for a regular three-year tour to remain "on leave" immediately after being administered the oath of enlistment. According to MSgt. Buster P. Kidder of the U. S. Army Recruiting Station at 114 South Los Angeles Street, in Anaheim, this "guaranteed plan" has proved popular in the past and is continued because it allows a young man to plan for the holidays and still take advantage of the Army's choice of opportunities offered during December. "Under the Armys program," the sergeant explained, "a man applying for enlistment, if found fully qualified, will receive all the necessary physical and mental examinations and his path of enlistment before returning to his home for Christmas leave." "Only after his leave is completed." Sgt Kidder added, "will he go to the training center to begin his Army basic training." Details of this program and the many choices offered today by the Army, the sergeant said, may be obtained at the recruiting station or, by calling him at PR 2-1460. CAVID M.
