Livestock Show, Parade In El Cajon This Week The Greater Western Exposition and Livestock Show in Los Angeles and El Cajon's 17th Annual Mother Goose Parade top the list of things to see in the Southland this week. Here is the schedule of activities in the area through Nov. 23 as compiled by the Automobile Club of Southern California. ARCADIA: "People of the Valley," an exhibit of textiles and costumes of the 1870's, will be featured at the Los Angeles State and County Arboretum during the month of November. CLAREMONT: The Padua Hills Theatre will present 'Las Posadas,' the traditional Mexican Christmas play, through Jan. 4. EL CAJON: The 17th annual Mother Goose Parade, held annually to mark the beginning of the Christmas season in this community, will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 24. Featured will be floats depicting famous Mother Goose characters. LA CANADA: "Flower Portraits," an exhibit of original art by Ethelynde Smith, will be featured in the Descanso Gardens" Hospitality House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Dec. 2. LOS ANGELES: The Masterworks of Mexican Art will be featured in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. ic Orchestra with Zubin Mehta conducting and David Frisina, violinist, will play in concert at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Philharmonic Auditorium. "Man's Place in the Universe" is the title for the program in Griffith Park Observatory and Planetarium through Dec. 31. The show is held daily, except Monday, at 3 and 8:30 p.m. with extra matinees on weekends and holidays at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. The Great Western Exposition and Livestock Show will be held at the Great Western Exhibition Center at the Santa Ana Nov. 20 through 26. PASADENA: "Gideon," Starring James Westerfield and Morey Ackerman, will be featured at the Pasadena Playhouse through Nov. 17. POMONA: Arabian Horse Shows will be held at 2 and 3:30 p.m. each Sunday through November at California State Polytechnic College SAN DIEGO: The San Francisco Opera Company will present "Die Walkuurt tonight in the Fox Theater." The opera will begin at 8 p.m. SANTA BARBARA: Po games are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. every Sunday at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. The Santa Barbara Museum of Art will hold its annual Treasure Sale at the Museum today through Saturday. Hours will be 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Men in Service Army S4 DAVID W. McDONALD, 22, whose wife, Louise, lives at 433 S. Citron, participated in the recent Exercise Sky Soldier IV in southern Formosa. The seven-day exercise ended late in October. Specialist McDonald entered the Army in July 1959, arrived overseas in December 1962 and is a machinegunner in Compa-seas last September. CHARLES MULCAHY, chick aviation ordnanceman, USN son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C Mulcahy of 852 S. Harbor Blvd. Anaheim, is serving with the Military Assistance Advisor Group (MAAG). Viet Nam. This is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition ever organized of the history of Mexican art covering over 3,000 years and containing over 2,000 objects. For the last 2 years, the exhibition has toured most of the major capitals of Europe. The Museum will also feature an exhibit titled "The Old Navy," a history of the U.S. Navy in paintings, sketches and watercolors, through Dec. 15. Chamber music is provided each Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Museum. The Character of Korea will be the theme of the exhibit at the Los Angeles City Hall Tower Gallery Art Exhibit through Nov. 27. McDonald, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Farris E. Tarkington, live at 2545 William Ave., Camden, Ark., is a 1959 graduate of Fairview High School in Camden. Army Pvt. RAYMOND G. JARVIS, whose father, Homer E. Jarvis, lives at 1105 N. Citron, provided support in Germany for a NATO field training exercise. Jarvis, a fire direction computer in Howitzer Battery of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment's 3d Reconnaissance Squadron near Kaiserslautern, entered the Army in April 1963, completed basic training at Fort Ord, Calif., and arrived over-seas last September. The MAAG roup is an Army Navy-Marine-Air Force organization which advises the Republic of Vietnam concerning training, use of equipment and tactical operations. ALAN V. BALL, HC2C, USN son of Mr. and Mrs. Oben I. Hartjoy of 2531 Crescent Avenue is serving with the Third Battalion (reinforced). Second Marine Regiment, Second Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force the amphibious striking force of the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. During the six-month operational tour in the Mediterranean Marines will visit ports in Spain, Italy, Greece and Sicily.
