Peace Corps Hunting For Area W
LONG BEACH — A Team of five Peace Corps recruiters will be on hand from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday hoping to uncover qualified volunteers from Orange County.
The group will be stationed in the cafeteria patio, and may be reached by telephone at GE 3-8833.
Heading he Long Beach team is Sam Yette, Peace Corps executive secretary, and Deane Wylie, just returned from two years of Peace Corps duty in the Philippines.
REAPPOINTED
R. Paul Hughes, president and chairman of the board of Pacific Hawaiian Products Co., has been reappointed as a member of the advisory board of Orange State College for a term ending Sept. 30, 1967. He is one of the original members of the board. Hughes resides at 1200 Dwyer Dr., Anaheim.
Team members will hand out application questionnaires and administer placement tests. Applicants will know within a month whether they are qualified.
"We also want to qualify some misconceptions about the Peace Corps," said team spokesman Paul Vanderwood.
"For example, you don't need a foreign language to qualify, although it certainly helps. We teach languages in our training program."

There are some 6,000 Peace Corps volunteers in almost 50 countries throughout the world. Minimum age is 18. There is no upper age limit, but married couples may not have dependents under 18.

Five evenings of music in Or-ange County this fall will include three lecture performances entitled "Masters of Music" with Henri Temianka, noted conductor, violinist and co-founder of the Paganini Quartet. These are to be held at the John C. Fremont Junior High School Auditorium, 608 West Center St., Anaheim on Thursdays, 8 p.m., Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and 14. Tickets may be obtained at the University Extension office, Buena Park High School, Tenth and Magnolia, Buena Park, telephone LAmbert 6-3397. Prices are $6 for the three evenings of Temianka.

First National Bank of Orange County's oldest, institution owned bank, is now named the First Na-Bank of Orange County. Mission for the name change came from James Saxon, Controller of the Currency of the United States, and the name change became effective Tuesday.
"The name change indicates our plans and program for the future," said Carl E. Schroeder, President of the bank. He said the bank has received a permit to open a branch in Costa Mesa, in the vicinity of Adams and Harbor.
"Other branches," said Schroeder, "are also being contemplated and worked into our schedule. Our personnel, along with our recently expanded Board of Directors, affords us a unique combination of talent and experience.
Anaheim Hospital Bought by Board
Martin Luther Hospital in Anahein has been purchased by its board of directors from the Great Western Savings and Loan Association, hospital board chairman Rev. Harry F. Steif announced today.
The hospital, at 1825 W. Romneya Drive, has been operated under a lease since it opened in December, 1960.
The Rev. Steif said first aim of the hospital owners will be to improve and expand services.
