New Summer Mark Set A record enrollment of 1046 for the 1963 summer sessions, which ended August 31, at Chapman College has been reported by director Paul H. Demaree. Of the total, 904 enrolled in workshops and classes on campus during the four three-week sessions and 142 enrolled in classes offered by Chapman College at the El Toro Marine facility. The total included 506 graduate students and 450 undergraduates. This year's enrollment represents an increase of 27 per cent over the 1962 total of 8y1 and continues the steady growth of the Chapman summer sessions over the past few years. Enrollment was 650 in the summer of 1961, 573 in 1960, 446 in 1959, and 266 in 1958. Since a number of persons took several courses during the summer, this year's total number of class registrations was well over 1500, according to Demaree. This summer, some 112 classes and workshops were offered in the fields of art, biology, economics and business administration, education, English, foreign languages, geography, history, home economics, music, philosophy, physical education, psychology, religion, science, sociology, and speech and drama.
