RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DESIGNATING AN NEXATION NO. 220 AND PRESCRIBING THE NOTICE.
PREVIEW PEEK — Orange County exhibit of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is given by pretty State Fair model Judy Fishback. The display for the California State Fair and Exposition, opening a 13-day run Aug. 28, includes a relief map showing the Colorado River aqueduct and California aqueducts, and dioramas depicting the use of the water by 8,500,000 Southern Californians.

A large covered wagon (part of a threshing outfit) was encountered in the neighborhood of Pomona the other day bearing the legend "Anaheim Street Car." We infer that it is the same vehicle which formed part of the Fourth of July procession two years ago. It is decidedly off the track.
The printers on the Los Angeles Times are out on stilts because shall run the Times office.

RESOLUTION NO. 2113
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DESIGNATING AND NEXATION NO. 220 AND PRESCRIBING THE NOTICE TO BE GIVEN
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Orange did on the 13th day of August, 1963 receive a written petition asking that certain territory described therein be annexed to the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal for annexation of the territory therein described to the City of Orange was submitted to and reported upon by the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed bound area; and
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Orange is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and contiguous to the City of Orange and is uninhabited territory; and said petition contained a description of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange finds from evidence and reports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area and not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized County Assessment Roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange finds from evidence and reports received that said new territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Orange did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is contiguous to the City of Orange.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Of Orange: That such proposed annexation be designated as Annexation No. 220 and that notice of such proposed annexation be sent and the same is hereby given; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 4th of September, 1963 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the City Library Building, 101 N. Center Street, City of Orange be, and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and having objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the City Council of the City of Orange and show why such territory should not be annexed; that all persons having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said date at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have any such territory should not be annexed.

The printers on the Los Angeles Times are out on strike because the proprietors discharged one of their employees and refused to reinstate him upon demand of the Typographical Union. The question at issue seems to be, whether the proprietors or the union shall run the Times office.

Orange Counties allocation of $458,300 from the 59 million dollar department of public works biennium highway construction budget and maintenance program involves four project.
Two hundred workers Thursday started counting noses in Anaheim. These workers according to reports filtering into headquarters just before press time Thursday, were meeting enthusiastic co-operation throughout the city.

BE I4 FURTHER RESOLVED that notice be given that at any time before the hour set for hearing objections any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the annexation with the City Clerk of the City of Orange; any protest is filed must conform to the provisions of Section No. $5312 of the Government Code, and shall state the name of the owner of the property affected and the description area of the property in general terms.
BE I7 FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the Orange Daily News, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Orange, and also in the Anaheim Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation published outside of the City of Orange, but in the County of Orange; that such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the state of hearing hereinabove specified; and
BE I7 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Cit- Clerk of the City of Orange be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person in whom land within the territory so proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized County Assessment Roll available on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk and to any person who has filled his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has entered est, either legal or equitable with said Clerk; that in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Orange is owned by a County, Use City Clerk of the City of Orange shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be made by the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
The territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Orange is located in the County of Orange, State of California, and described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point on the present boundary of the City of Orange California.
