A budget breakdown shows expenditures of $3,006,688 for current operation; $8,795 for food service; $123,326 for community service; $1,829,419 for capital outlay; and reserves of $142,750. Revenues shown, with a beginning balance of $564,154, are $12,-300 from federal sources; $1,141,-409 from state sources; $1,143,038 from Orange County sources; and $2,250,077 from local sources. The 1962-63 budget total was $5,-962,718. The 1963-64 tax rate is 40.32 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. This is .92 cent, less than one penny, above last year's tax rate. The less than one cent tax increase is due to road improvement taxes and a change in California law which requires additional employee health insurance. The budget is based on a total district assessed valuation of $479.53 million. Last year's district assessed valuation was $425,886,790. Sherril, Anaheim, participated with other members of Company C of the 23d Infantry's 4th Battalion in Exercise KING CRAB III, a four-day airborne maneuver in Alaska. The exercise, which was designed to exploit the capabilities of an airborne unit, ended July 26. Reynolds, a rifleman in the company at Fort Richardson, entered the Army in February 1982 and arrived in Alaska the following August. The 18-year-old soldier attended Orange High School. Need Drapes?
