12—The Anaheim Gazette Wednesday, April 10, 1963 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Nearly 200 Blind Children Enjoy Own Easter Egg Hunt One hundred and eighty-five children, ages 6 through 12 went on an unusual Easter Egg Hunt in Griffith Park, Saturday, March 30. Each hidden egg was taped to one end of a long string. The youngsters were assisted in finding the other end of the string and then followed it to "discover" the egg. The hunt was conducted in this manner because all of the children participating were blind. This was the 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt held by the non-profit Foundation for the Junior Blind whose headquarters are at 4005 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. After all the eggs were tracked down and found, the sightless children had the opportunity to "see" with their fingertips, a live Easter Bunny who came to visit. An outdoor barbecue and a hike through the park area were additional treats for the children. Do you have a white elephant in your home?
