Irvine Lectures
On Urban Issues
"The Urban Explosion" — the sprawling metropolis will be the object of study of Irvine Campus' Series to be held in the auditorium of the Chrysler Training Center in Anaheim.
Chancellor Daniel G. Aldrich who has just moved into his temporary offices at the junction of San Joaquin and Paularino Road pending the beginning of campus construction says, "Resource planning will be one of the major fields of emphasis at the new university. This program will bring together a distinguished group of experts from various campuses of the University of California to consider issues and problems of common concern to the rapid growing communities of Orange and Los Angeles Counties."
The lectures will occupy six Friday evenings from 8:00 through 10 p.m., and will be co-sponsored by University of California Extension. Catherine Bauer Wurster, Berkeley Professor of, and nationally known authority on City and Regional Planning, spoke on "Problems of Metropolitan Expansion," at the first lecture which was held March 15. Following Mrs. Wurster, Robert A. Nisbet, Vice-Chancellor at UC Riverside, spoke on March 23, exploring the subject "The Individual and the Quest for Community." The remaining lectures will take place on March 29, April 5, April 12, and April 19.
Series tickets at a price of $5.00 are available from University of California Extension offices in Orange County, Room 15, Buena Park High School (LAmbert 6 - 3397).

Cub Scouts Seek Poster Prize Award
Episcopalians Slate 12-Week Radio Program
The annual Scout-O-Rama poster contest was off to a flying start this week with Orange County Cub Scouts warming up their paint brushes for a try at producing the winning posters. Entries will be judged the latter part of April, and the contest is open to all Cub Scouts in the Orange Empire Council. Official contest rules and information are now available at individual Cub units.
Prize in this year's poster contest will be awarded in three separate divisions: Most Colorful, Most Humorous, and Most Distinctive. Winning posters will be displayed throughout the county at leading merchantile establishments, in addition to the official display at the Scout-O-Rama to be held May 24th and 25th at Orange County Fairgrounds. Any subject may be used for the 18"x24" posters, provided it promotes the Scout-O-Rama '63.
Almost one hundred posters were submitted in last year's poster contest, with first prize awards going to Mark Resig, Pack 9, South Laguna Del Mar District; Bill Ellis, Pack 85, Garden Grove, Las Bolsas District; and Danny Danner, Pack 14, Santa Ana, Santiago District. An even larger number of entries is anticipated in this year's contest because of advance notice of the number and value of prizes offered. Upon completion of judging, the posters will be returned to their designers for display in local neighborhoods.
California Episcopalians will join the rest of the nation in listening to the 18th Annual Episcopal Radio Series for 12 weeks under the sponsorship of Parish of the Air, Episcopal Radio TV Foundation. Southern California Stations KGBS Los Angeles and San Diego KFMS will carry the program Sundays at 7:00 a.m. from March 31 to June 16.
This is the largest continuing network available for any religious program in America. It includes 450 nationwide radio stations and is heard around the world via the Armed Forces Radio Network.
Bishop Henry L. Lottit, Bishop of Southern Florida will be the speaker on all 12 broadcasts. Music will be by the famous St. Bartholomew's Choir of New York City under the direction of Jack Ossewaarde.
Bishop Lottit has been Bishop of South Florida since 1851. He is recognized as one of the great voices in the House of Bishops. He was recently voted the outstanding award for leadership with intergroup relationships by the American Jewish Committee of Miami.
The first broadcasts, according to the Rev. John K. Saville of St. Michael's Episcopal Church of Anaheim, will be March 31 under the title "Christ Crucified." Music will be Plainsong from Psalm 51:17, arranged by the choir director, Jack Ossewaarde.
