Sunday, fro m1 to 3 p.m., Santa Claus and his helpers will play host to the Kiddies Christmas Party. There will be gifts and treats for the younger set. Santa Anita to Open Season December 26 Beautiful Santa Anita Park on 'Lucky' Baldwin's historic old Rancho in Arcadia opens its estimated $3,550,000 Thoroughbred racing season on Wednesday, Dec. 26, for a run of 55 days through Monday, Mar. 11. Gates open at 11 a.m. with the first race starting at 1 p.m. Santa Anita's established international lustre will be enhanced this year with an eye-catching mid-winter floral design of the infield, based on the mosaic sidewalk pattern of famous Copacabana Beach at Rio de Janiero. In racing over the past 28 years, 11 of the world's great racing nations have produced horses to win at Santa Anita, including 7 notable victories in renowed Bi-Cap. The traditional $20,000 Palo Handicap at six furlongs will be the opening-day speed attraction. Top stakes will follow to attract the gathering of the thousands for the New Year celebration at nearby Pasadena. A double bill of the $50,000 California Breeders Champion Stakes for 2-year-olds and the $25,000 Malibu Stakes for coming 4-year-olds is slated for Saturday, Dec. 29; the $20,000 Las Flores Handicap on Monday, Dec. 31; and the $25,000 San Gabriel Handicap on the spectacular hillside infield grass course will head the Tuesday, Jan. 1, attraction. They lost the California Inter-Ad Club Sets Annual Yule Get Together Both outdoor and indoor sports will be featured at the Orange County Advertising Club's annual pre-Christmas get-together scheduled for tomorrow at the Alta Vista Country Club, Placentia. For the club's outdoor sportsmen (and women), there's the second annual Ad Club Golf Tournament. Dancing will provide recreation for those members and guests more inclined toward indoor activity, with, of course, dinner served to all. About 40 golfers are expected to participate in the tournament, Club President George Meskell reports. First tee-off is set for 11 a.m. at Alta Vista. A 203 pound tornado by the name of Steve Grady exploded into action for the Cubs in the opening minutes of the third quarter and Loyola moved from their own19 yerd line to pay dirt in 11 plays. Galloping Grady raced down the sideline for 28 yards for the Cubs first tally. Big Steve ran over the conversion to put Loyola in the lead 7-3. With but four minutes left in the fourth quarter, Grady again went on the march and dashed over the Anaheim's 4-yard line for the final TD.
