Thanksgiving Menus
Feature Fancy Food
Anaheim's famed Charter House Hotel takes the greatest of pride in bringing to the people of Orange County a fine array of Thanksgiving festive foods gathered from the far reaches of this grand and glorious country.
The menu is inspired by old treasured Thanksgiving recipes preserved by Charter House internationally famed from New England Hotels where the Pilgrim Fathers first celebrated Thanksgiving for the bountiful blessings of America.
Bernard Haering, general manager of the Anaheim Charter House, notes the dining room will be open from noon until 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Heart Group Fund Gain
A record total of $97,725.31 was contributed by local residents to the Orange County Heart Association during its fiscal Year, 1961 to 1962.
The sum represents a gain of $3,684.78, or 3.9 per cent, over the $94,030.53 contributed to the Heart Fund in 1961. Some $46,458.09, or 47.5 per cent of the total, resulted from neighborhood canvass conducted by more than 8,000 volunteers on Heart Sunday in February.
The yearly results were announced by James W. Marta, Orange banker, newly elected president of the local chapter. Paying tribute to Heart Fund volunteers and the public for their cooperation in making the campaign a success, Marta said:
“This generous response from Orange Countians reaffirms their confidence in the Heart Association as the only national organization fighting all the cardiovascular diseases.”
Marta noted that since 1948, more than 75 million Heart Fund dollars have been spent through new methods of diagnosis and treatment.
“The success of the 1962 drive will assure further support to cardiovascular scientists throughout the nation in their efforts to reduce death and disability from diseases of the heart and blood vessels,” he said.
In addition, Heart Fund dollars will support the Association’s broad programs of public and professional education and community service, Marta pointed out.
