'Gentlemen Prefer'
In Last Weekend
Two concluding performances of the elaborately costumed "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" are scheduled this weekend in Garden Grove Auditorium.
Production of the '20s-oriented madcap musical was launched last week by Theatre Associates of Orange County, Inc. Presentations on Friday and Saturday with curtain scheduled for 8:30 p.m. will wrap up the venture, which features a cast of 60 supported by a complete orchestra.

Western High Girls' League Slates Picnic
Girls' League of Western High School, under the leadership of President Becky Cervantes and Vice-President Barbara Ristow, is planning its annual Big and Little Sister Picnic.
This year's picnic will be held on Tuesday, September 4, on the school grounds. Guests of honor will be incoming sophomore girls from the junior high schools of the neighborhood.
Purpose of the picnic is to acquaint new students with the school and introduce them to many of the girl students, who will help them adjust. Skits, lunch, and a tour of the school will be featured.

Appointment of Mrs. L. J. Tucker Garden Grove civic leader - chairman of the Orchard County Nikon for Governor Committee was announced this week by committee co-chairmen - er Schmid of Garden Grove O. W., (Dick) Richard of New Beach.
Mrs. Tucker is the president the Orange County Federation Republican Women, and last won the Woman of the Year award presented by the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce.
She is a member of the YW advisory board; a member of executive board, and past president of the Woman's Civic Council of Garden Grove; and past president of the Federated Republic Women.
With her husband, Mrs. Tucker has resided in Garden Grove since 1954, and in Southern California for 30 years. Both are

Sea Woman Named Vice President County’s Nixon Committee
appointment of Mrs. L. J. Tuck-Garden Grove civic leader, as chairman of the Orange County Nixon for Governor Committee was announced this week committee co-chairmen Wal-Schmid of Garden Grove and W., (Dick) Richard of Newport Beach.

In making the announcement, Schmid and Richard said that the selection of Mrs. Tucker points up the "tenor of our campaign, in which responsible leaders of Or-ange County are taking a clear look at the paralysis which is set- ing in in the expected increase in industrial jobs, because of the taxing policies of the present adminis- tration.
