Burns 1337 West Lynne May 21st I appreciate your letter, Burns. However, I feel you being unfair to the majorities people in Orange County. I have been here less than a year. I have found that they are people, no better nor any worse than people in any other part of the country. Don't judge 800,000 people the ravings of a few. Newspapers in Orange County and California are no different than those in the East. If are going to be fair, they will print all sides of an issue would no more consider our Mr. Townsend's letters, or the of his supporters, than I will consider leaving out names people, from stories, because I didn't like them. He and friends have as much right voice their opinions as you I have. The way to fight intolerance not with more intolerance. Pearson Park (Continued from Page 2) had no right to take advantage of his position as a commander to attempt to indoctrinate his charges. Things are bad enough when the Federal Government interferes in matters that are none of their business, but they are far worse when the military gets into the act as well. In the event you are not up on your history, it might be of interest to mention it is this very thing that has proved a breeding ground for military dictators. And it was for this very reason men like Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, and others much so that a large standing army. We have had military men as presidents, but they all had the good sense and courtesy to stay out of politics while they were in uniform. History will further show us that very few military men made good presidents and that several made bad presidents. And if General Walker is so opposed to the Democrats, Kennedy and 'liberals', how is it he is running for the Governorship of Texas on the Democratic ticket. The man smells too strongly of an opportunist for my appetite. As for millions of Americans being scared to death — well, I don't know about you, but the thought of total annihilation with one puff, frightens me. I am certainly not for giving in to the communists, but on the other hand, I wouldn't tempt a bunch of fanatical madmen to start Anaheim's famed Pearson Park is sporting its rare spring day. I am certainly not for giving in to the communists, but on the other hand, I wouldn't tempt a bunch of fanatical madmen to start throwing bombs at me either. In the final analysis, let's remember that political differences are what made and make this country free. Those who want everything their own way are begging for a dictatorship. For as many who feel that President Kennedy, Senator Kuchel, Governor Brown, and others, have not provided adequate leadership, there are just as many, at least, who feel that under the circumstances, they have. The same holds true for any leader, past or present. There are always some who are 'fer' and some 'agin'. That's the American Way. Bob Abboreno Gazette News Editor In Anaheim ... R. P. GIANTS OF CALIFORNIA GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE ★★ NATION'S LAKE The Golden Gate Bridge, rising 746 feet above beautiful San Francisco Bay and built at a cost of $35 million, is America's largest single-span suspension bridge. California Federal Savings is the nation's largest federal savings association. Both are man-made giants; yet neither was created by men who deliberately set out just to build giants. Visitors at the new Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park have been casting ballots naming their favorite star whose figure they want added to the museum. They also vote on which of the star's pictures they would like the figure taken from. Liz is now leading the over-all balloting by a comfortable three-to-one margin, according to Allen H. Parkinson, museum president. Judy Garland and Shirley Temple are also high in the polling. The most-asked-for of Miss Taylor's films is, to nobody's surprise, the still unfinished "Cleopatra", in which Richard Burton plays Marc Antony. Museum officials are following the voting carefully in view of previous plans to represent the violent-eyed actress in her Academy-acward-winning role in "Butterfield 8", made with husband Eddie Fisher.
