S.S. Catalina to Resume Daily Sailings With Avalon Festival The S. S. Catalina, the Southland's favorite vacation and cruise ship, resumes daily sailings to Avalon Town May 4th to open the three-day Catalina Spring Festival, a music-filled, fun-in-the-sun program for the entire family. The opening of the 1962 season at Catalina, in addition, offers a wide variety of outdoor and indoor entertainment, including a boat and water ski show, a comic diving exhibition, brass band concerts, a gala King Neptune's Ball in Avalon's famed Casino, as well as dozens of other special events during 72 hours of weekend family fun. Jay North, television's Dennis the Menace, will be Grand Marshall of the parades, appearing as King Neptune, Jr. There will be a contingent of movie stars and other personalities who will participate in the festivities. Yacht clubs and boat owners from all over the Southern Cali- formia coast will converge for a nautical rally in Avalon Bay. The boating fraternity will stage a dinghy parade, reviewed by King Neptune, and prizes will be offered for the best-decorated dink. New Data Center Approved at OCC Development of final plans and specifications for the business data processing center at Orange Coast College was given the green light this week (4-9) by the Board of Trustees. Th new data processing center will be used in the college instructional programs as well as for record keeping in attendance and accounting.
