Television's hard-shelled, but brilliant, young neuro-surgeon, Ben Casey (Vince Edwards) has vocal talents beyond chewing out incompetent interns or uttering eloquent epigrams on life and fate.
Friday night on "The Dinah Shore Show" Edwards is scheduled to sing. He will be starring with Keely Smith, who is appearing for the first time since she and longtime partner Louis Prima chose to go separate ways. Others to be featured are George Chakiris (West Side Story) and Big Tiny Little on piano. (Friday, 9:30 p.m., Ch. 4)
"Get the United States out of the United Nations" will be the topic of Dan Smoot when he reports Saturday and Sunday. Smot quotes Congressman James B. Utt in support of his views. If Smot presents both sides of the argument on this subject, it should be of interest to open-minded viewers (Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m., Ch. 11).
Of interest to parents and children will be "Doctors at Work" Sunday. An ophthalmologist will conduct various tests on a preschool-age youngster to determine whether to prescribe glasses. The doctor will explain the procedure of each examination and the purpose of such a test. A panel of three Orange County physicians will be questioned on the subject by moderator Maury Green. (Sunday, 10:30 a.m., Ch. 2)
Judy Garland will make her first appearance on TV in six years Sunday night. She brings with her two other well-known singers, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, who will present an hour of songs including favorites, "Just In Time," "You Do Something to Me" and "San Francisco."

Aid To Wildlife
Heavy downpours of rain and snow in Southern California over the past week or so have brought damage and disaster to many persons, but wildlife conditions have been greatly benefited, says the Los Angeles regional office of the Department of Fish and Game.
Inland Fisheries personnel throughout the Southland report that water flows have increased and many lakes and reservoirs are at their highest point in many a moon. Despite flood conditions in many areas, relatively few fish have been lost.
Lakes that have been especially low, such as Irvine, Big Bear, Casitas, Piru and Matilija, were rejuvenated by the recent storms and show promise of providing the best fishing in years at those spots. Water levels in most lakes and streams have risen substantially, and a continued good runoff is still taking place.
The torrential rains are also a great gift to game, both large and small, say the DFG's game management experts. Severe storms like the recent one inevitably entail some losses due to exposure, drownings, etc., but on the other hand they fill all the natural waterholes and DFG guzzlers, make for an abundance of green feed and set up excellent conditions for game reproduction.
World’s Fair Is In Homestretch
Building activity at the Seattle World’s Fair — 1962's "Big show" in the Western United States — is entering the home stretch.
"Construction has entered a 'crash' phase on the grounds," says Ewen C. Dingwall, vice president and general manager of America's first world's fair in more than 20 years.
Meantime, Dingwall says that Harold Shaw, the fair's director of performing arts, is putting the finishing touches on the most extensive entertainment program ever scheduled in this nation for a six-month period.
