Ramp and Special Stairway Built for Handicapped Persons
Handicapped persons in wheelchairs or braces now have a new ramp and special steps for entering headquarters of Orange County Chapter, the National Foundation, in Santa Ana — thanks to several labor unions, who furnished both labor and materials. When told of the need, The un-
"Will this help the March of Dimes, too?"
"Yes," he was told, "what will it cost?"
"Not a dime," was the reply. Six members of the Carpenters and Millwrights Local 1815, all of them being millwrights, turned out quickly and built the ramp and special steps. They were Warren Parson, C. C. Hocutt, Stephen Vernoy, Jeff Aldridge, Walter Ogden and Paul Satchell.
The material was furnished by Anaheim Carpenters Union Local 2203.
Then came a painter from Santa Ana Painters Union Local 686, Christopher Loiacono, 118 La-trice Lane, Anaheim, who soon had the installation shining with a fresh coat of paint.
