Alma Pucci Is Institute Honoree
"A Night in Italy" was the theme for the dinner at the Kettle Restaurant held by Our Lady of the Rosary in honor of Miss Alma Pucci of San Francisco, grand president, here on official visit.
New members were initiated during the meeting held later at the Odd Fellows Hall. Initiated were Mrs. Rose Houseman, Mrs. Helen Wilson, Mrs. Mary Cheminak, Mrs. Anne Liptak, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Mrs. Josephine Gallant and Mrs. Olga Richer.
Grand officers present were Mrs. Marcene Hughes, Miss Mary Jean Lambert, Mrs. William Krom, Mrs. Stephen Gallagher, Miss Irene Earley, Mrs. Gertrude Davis and Mrs. Maryelyn Heiser.
Delegations from other institutions included Laurentian, Peoria, Corpus Christi, St. Pius Blessed Sacrament, Belmont Mae, Immaculate and Santa Clara Institutes.
Chairmen of the tea which allowed the meeting were Louis Fecher and Mrs. Raymie Heinz. Pouring were Mrs. Gailer and Mrs. Louis Benner.
The annual Christmas panto will be held Dec. 18. Gifts to bring canned food and cloth for the needy.
Following the meeting the grand president was presented with a birthday cake, the work of Mrs. Gordon Clark.
Junior Ebells Holiday '61 'Guest Night'
The Junior Ebell Club held their annual Guest Night meeting at the Ebell clubhouse, with Mrs. George Reed, presiding. Mrs. Reed introduced the following special guests: Mrs. C. M. a choir made up of members who sang several Christmas carols as a devotional. Mrs. Davison accompanies them at the piano.

forward to the annual Christmas party on December 16. The children will gather at the clubhouse at 10 a.m. for a visit from Santa and his elves. The Chiquita Puppeteers will present a puppet show. Mrs. William Hadley, chairman of the party, is taking reservations.
A group of fifteen children of members of the Junior Ebell Club have formed a children's chorus. The group, composed of children ages 5 to 7, have been rehearsing on Saturday mornings under the direction of Mrs. Tom Key, music chairman, and Mrs. Gordon invisional chairman.
In addition to singing the devotional at the December meeting of the club, the chorus has made transients to sing Christmas carols at the Lutheran Home.
The newly formed Albert Sitton home Guild held an orientation coffee at the Sitton home yesterday. There was a tour of the home and explanation of functions of the guild.
Western PTA in Program Tonight
Western High School's PTA will present their annual Christmas program tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the boys' gym.
The A Cappella Choir will perform their traditional Singing Christmas Tree in green robes with each student holding a white candle with a colored flame. The choir will feature six Christmas numbers directed by Alexander Enchoff.
Other singing groups that will perform in the Christmas program are The Mixed Chorus, the Advanced Girls' Glee, Mens' Glee, and two beginning glees, and all will be accompanied by the band.
The Junior Ebell Club held their annual Guest Night meeting at the Ebell clubhouse, with Mrs. George Reed, presiding. Mrs. Reed introduced the following special guests: Mrs. C. M. Kountz, Orange District coordinator; Mrs. J. Stanley Bothelho, District Federation Extension chairman; and Mrs. Richard Jackson, District recording secretary; and Mrs. Bernard W. Jordan, Ebell president.
Junior Ebell past president introduced were Mmes. George Fowler, Maxwell Doyle, Donald Gordon, and Arthur Pressel. Past Coordinators introduced were Mmes. C. A. Neighbors, Arthur Roquet, Claud Sympson and Joe R. Thompson. Also introduced were Mmes. W.K. Banks, present coordinator and W.P. Shira, Asso. coordinator.
Mrs. Gordon Davison, inspirational chairman, and Mrs. Tom Key, music chairman, presented a choir made up of members who sang several Christmas carols as a devoted al. Mrs. Davison accompany them at the piano.
The Junior Eebells in conjunction with the Ebell Club have entered the local "Trim a Tree contest." Their entry is present being displayed at the Broadway Shopping Center.
The members voted to contribute $10 from their charity fund to buy food for a Christmas book for a needy family, and contribute $25 to the United Fund.
Mrs. Phillip Roseberry, international affairs chairman, read letter from the club's adoptive Korean war orphan, Shizuke Kakawa and displayed her handmade Christmas card to members. And, a letter of thanks was read from a librarian in the Philippines who received magazine sent from the Junior Ebell through their "Magazines For Friendship" projects.
Red Cross Holds Christmas Coffee
The Anaheim Red Cross at 418 N.West St. held its annual Christmas coffee with some 60 volunteers attending.
Serving at the coffee table were Mrs. Kurt Epstein of Anaheim, who has been with the Red Cross since World War I, and Mrs. Lewis McBratney of Stanton.
Present as guests were Sgt. John L. Sullivan, Jr., representing the Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Anaheim, and Lt. J.D. Hannon of the Niki Missile Site in Stanton.
Among those in attendance with long records in volunteer service in various capacities were Mrs. Leo Friis, trustee, who has been with the Red Cross since 1930; Mrs.E.H.Kersten, 1935; and Mrs.Rudolph Boysen, 1945, making a total of 73 years devoted to Red Cross work.
