When in doubt, wear black; to underdress, wear black; to invest wisely, buy black. From the one black wool dress each college freshman includes in her wardrobe, to the variety of black crepes in a society woman's life, the acceptability of black in unquestioned. Until a short time ago, every Paris collection featured an important group of blacks. These were played up in the press along with any drastic silhouette changes. But now color has become the issue. People in the fashion world are appearing in greens and blues and oranges. You can't go to a good restaurant in New York without seeing color everywhere. This is new and refreshing and everyone wants to be a part of it. Often times when you aren't part of fashion day in and day out, it takes much longer to grasp a trend or to accept a change. It takes aggressive buying on the part of the small shop owner or buyer to make fashionable merchandise available to their customers. This season, buy a colored dress or suit or coat and wear it with conviction. Try to get over EXHAUSTED OR EXHILARATED? This is the one of year when work and social pressures gather need. How do you suppose you'll react to the pace? To let it wear you to a nub would be a pity. Tired and tense, a woman loses her power to enjoy the measures of the season ahead, to dispense cheer or partake of it. Too, as her vitality drains away, she comes to look and feel like a ghost of seasons past. Combatting fatigue consequently becomes a female duty. Among the many methods, the following is chosen as it takes so little time: You simply close the door — your bathroom door on the world. You then fill the tub with comfortably warm water, submerged to the chin and, before a stub-up, soak your fatigue away. In just ten minutes, soak acts like a balm to the nerves, body and spirits. For an even more restful effect, add scented bath bubbles or crystals to the water. A perfumed bath is extra-soothing properties. It's a psychological act! Or you might add a dry-skin conditioner to the water. There's a way, if ever was, for a rushed lovely get a two-in-one treatment. Conditioners take the form of water-permeable oils and bath gelee. Import-from Europe, a gelee offers multiple benefits, as it spa-formulated with a cleanser, deodorizer and amins. But however you draw your bath or whenever you take it, you will arise revitalized from lolling rein. INSTANT BEAUTY TIPS For 50 ways to look lovelier, send for my leaflet, "INSTANT BEAUTY TIPS."
