Nursing Care Is Lecture Topic At Hospital The third in a series of special lectures by prominent county physicians on care of patients after surgery was held Monday at the Martin Luther Hospital cafeteria. Planned by the hospital's nursing department as part of its in-service training program the lectures are designed to cover every phase of nursing care with particular emphasis on certain procedures to follow in the proper caring of every type of post-operative surgery case. Dr. Bertram L. Tesman, Martin Luther chief of staff and professor of obstetrics at the UCLA Medical Center, was speaker at the lecture. His topic for the evening will be, "Post Operative Care and Complications of Obstetrics-Gynecology Patients." The current series started in October when Dr. Samuel S. Gendelspoke on "Post Operative Care of General Surgery Patient," and Dr. Murray Russell covered the topic, "Post Operative Care of General Urology Patients." A hospital spokesman said that all lectures are open to the public. Martin Luther is located at 1825 W. Ronineya Dr. (West of Euclid between La Palma and the Bay). Anaheim Lutherans Dedicated New Church Services recently marked the completion and dedication of a new house of worship in the rapidly expanding east Anaheim area as Lamb of God Lutheran Church in the Orange County area. The new building gives evidence to the growth of new congregation in our city. The current series started in October when Dr. Samuel S. Gendelspoke on "Post Operative Care of General Surgery Patient," and Dr. Murray Russell covered the topic, "Post Operative Care of General Urology Patients." British Daughters To Meet Nov. 30 The Sunningdale chapter, Daughters of the British Empire in Anaheim, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday Nov. 30, 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Elbert O. Hutson, 10072 Gilbert St., Anaheim, KE 5-8728. Mrs. Noral Nelson, regent, will conduct the business session, assisted by Mrs. G. Chapple, State Org. Sec. signing in new members. Tea will be served by Mrs. Sidney Keiff and Mrs. Geo. L. Jacobsen. Women of British birth, ancestry and wives of Britishers are cordially invited to attend. Center Meets The Yorba Linda Farm Center met for a potluck Monday and viewed colored slides on "Europe As Seen By Retired Farmers," shown by Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Allbee. Hosts were Dr. and Mrs. Buel Enyeart, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clodt, Mrs. Agnes Clodt and Mrs. A. Sawyer. Watch the Classified Columns. Anaheim Lutherans Dedicated New Church Services recently marked the completion and dedication of a new house of worship in the rapidly expanding east Anaheim area as Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 14431 E. South St., formally dedicated its new church building, the Rev. Fred D. Dommer, pastor, has announced. Dr. Walter Hellman, executive vice president, South Pacific District of the American Lutheran Church officiated at the Service of Dedication assisted by other pastors of The American Lutheran Mrs. F. Cooper Is Ikettes President Mrs. Fred Cooper has been elected president of the Anaheim Ikettes, the largest ladies chapter in the west of the Izaak Walton League of America, Mrs. Cooper is also a national director of the League. Also elected were: Mrs. Wayne Held, first vice-president; Mrs. Ed Wingett; second vice-president; Mrs. Donald Pannier, treasurer; Mrs. Martin Willis, recording secretary; Mrs. Warren Broad, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Lyle Diggins, sergeant-at-arms; Mrs. Frank Alley, delegate-at-large; Mrs. Eleanor Redman and Mrs. Ralph Bartlett, directors. Installation services will be held Dec. 14. Church in the Orange County area. The new building gives evidence to the growth of a new congregation in our city. It mally organized December 1960 members and friends of Lamb of God Lutheran Church worshipped in temporary quarters for almost a year while groups was secured and their houses worshiped built. Mighty Y's Have Hamburger Fry According to President Cynthia Gregg of the Mighty Y's this cottage now has 11 members — small but mighty. The group held a hamburger fry and fun night at the Y instate of a regular meeting where they filled up on hamburgers and ate afterwards bounced the extra calories off on the trampoline. The girls will be collecting canned goods for their November service project. These will be turned over to the Y to add to bake kets for the needy on Thanksgiving. A Thanksgiving service will be presented by the Jr. Hi. Y members from the 8 Junior High School on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Fauntlerah Curch, 9921 Oran Ave., from 7:30 to 8:30. This is an annual service by Y clubs for young people. BEST 328 West Center Street in ANAHEIM ANAHEIM GAZETTE Gift-O-Rama In Final Planning Final preparations for the annual benefit Gift-O-Rama, announcement of the Patroness Tea Dec. 11, and awarding of two service hour pins highlighted the regular meeting of St. Jude Hospital Guild in the hospital staff room. Chairman Mrs. Rose Moore recruited members to staff booths at the fourth annual Gift-O-Rama from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the staff room. She also displayed the raffle prize a white mohair sweater with matching handbag. Gift-O-Rama proceeds are earmarked for the hospital building fund. Mrs. Harold Mustoe, 4th vice-president and ways and means chairman, was awarded a 500-hours service pin, and a provisional Mrs. Peter Dolbee was awarded a 100-hour service pin by volunteer coordinator Mrs. Edward Tagge. President Mrs. Richard Dishman announced that the annual Patroness Tea, which is the December meeting, will be held at the Anaheim Assistance League Clubhouse from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 11. In other activity at the meeting, reports were made of over $4,600 sales of Christmas cards through the Guild coffee hours organized by Mrs. Nicolas Stein. Mrs. Dishman appointed Mrs. William Battis chairman of a committee to work with other hospital auxiliaries and PTA’s throughout the county to distribute treatment consent slips which would authorize physicians and hospitals to perform whatever treatment might be needed for minors in case of emergency when parents cannot be reached. Beta Sigma Phi In Brunch-Meet Southern California Council of Beta Sigma Phi held its November brunch meeting at the Disneyland Hotel with an attendance of 900. Mrs. Rodney Scholtes, SC president, presided. The morning's agenda included the election of a nominating committee for the 1961-62 officers and voting on amendments to the by-laws. Mrs. Scholtes reported on the executive board's participation at the Inter-State Council meeting in Bakersfield. Mrs. Marshall Phillips, civil defense chairman, also reported on her attendance at the Californians Civil Defense Conference held in Santa Barbara. PICNICS COMING UP? WE GIVE ORANGE Society - Clubs - Churches TELEPHONE PR 2-1800 Camp Fire Girls In Fall Training The Orange County Council of Camp Fire Girls is currently conducting its fall leadership training courses in Santa Ana. These training courses are offered to prepare and qualify interested women for the responsibility of leadership in the Camp Fire Program. The training is a part of the over-all group organization plans the council carries out each year. These women will be organizing new Camp Fire and Blue Bird groups or replacing former leaders in areas throughout the entire county. Three Blue Bird training courses consisting of five sessions each have been given this fall with a total of 162 women taking part. An additional 29 women are currently enrolled in the six-session Camp Fire guardians' training also being offered. Camp Fire Girls is a member agency of the Anaheim-Western Communities United Fund.
