NEWSMEN TO HEAR SPACE Models, films and descriptions of missiles and space programs will be given by Chas. Herbert Seaton, space engineer with Aeronutronic, a division of the Ford Motor Co. in Newport Beach, for the dinner meeting of Sigma Delta Chi, national journalistic society, at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Penthouse Executive Club, Santa Ana. Seaton is principal engineer in advance technical planning, Aeronutronic Space System Operations. Among models he will discuss play is the proposed launching of a Blue Scout missile from the X-15 spacecraft, lunar capsule material, and configuration of four different missiles in the Blue Scout program. He is involved in the engineering and marketing functions, associated with the missile and space programs, of Aeronutronic. Representatives of the public relations department of Aeronutronic will discuss problems and procedures regarding clearance on military projects, handling of classified information, and importance of news handling in the space program. Walter Burroughs, Costa Mesa publisher, charter member of the Orange County chapter and president-elect of the national society, will outline various new policies, including extension of Sigma Delta Chi to foreign countries where American newsmen are assigned. Burroughs and John (Sky) Dunlap, of Santa Ana College, chapter president, were instrumental at the recent Miami Beach na- Management Confab to be Held at Chapman “What’s Different About Supervising Scientists and Engineers?” That will be the topic for a workshop at the fifth Orange County Management Conference, Saturday, Nov. 18, Chapman College. Professor Milton Gordon of San Fernando Valley State College will be the workshop chairman for those who wish to utilize this group in a more effective way in business. General Chairman Everett Gillespie says Gordon is well qualified to give the supervisory practices and perspectives that will lead to a more effective management effort.
