Civil Defense Is PTA Topic
"Civil Defense" was the subject of the guest speaker, Thomas R. Scheid, at the Betsy Boe P.T.A. May meeting.
The talk stirred the members to contemplate the formation of a committee to work on a local civil defense project. Featured in the program was a civil defense film entitled, "New Family Is Town," which dealt with the building of back yard fallout shelters.
Presiding over the meeting was Mrs. Thomas R. Scheid, president, who gave an informative report on the recent State PTA A Convention. Mrs. Scheid added that convention speakers requested local presidents to urge parents to attend the Board of Education board meetings.
The sixth grade room mothers served at hostesses.
