Maxfield (center) for outstanding professional ability and devotion to duty. He and wife Cecilia (left) are now living following the colonel's retirement is Lt. Gen. Emers. Anaheim Hospital Adopts New Rates for Obstetrical Care A plan which guarantees flat rates for obstetrical care has been adopted by Martin Luther Hospital of Anaheim, it was announced by Arthur G. Turner, administrator. Under the Martin Luther plan, now effective, a charge has been established as the insured flat rate for each type of obstetrical admission, and no additional charges are made for other services in the obstetrical ward. The insured figure includes mother’s room, nursery, delivery room, medications, oxygen and all other necessary medical items ordered by the physician. Turner said that the doctor or patient who knows how many days will be spent in the hospital and the type of delivery required will be able to determine the exact cost under this guaranteed flat rate plan. Before the plan was adopted, the announcement pointed out, patients and their doctors could only estimate within a wide range what the obstetrical admission expenses would be. Western Coach Named to Head Annual Team Don Davis, football coach at Western High in Anaheim, was named head coach of the North team for the third annual Orange County North-South All-Star prep football charity game, according to an announcement by Sheldon Dak, president of the Brea Lions Club, sponsors of the game. This year’s game will be played in the Santa Ana Municipal Bowl on Thursday evening, August 17. South coach will be Dick Coury of Mater Dei. Coach Davis’ eleven upset Anaheim High, champions of the Sunset League, in one of the highlights of the 1960 season. Davis’ overall record at Western is 17 wins, 10 losses, 3 ties. Hanna Reveals Plans for New County District Assemblyman Richard T. Hanna (D-Fullerton) today disclosed preliminary projections for a new congressional district in Orange County which will be considered by the Elections and Reapportionment Committee early thihs month. Assemblyman Hanna said plans under consideration by the committee would form a new congressional district encompassing the existing 75th Assembly District, with minor exclusions and additions, which would deviate from the boundary with the 74th Assembly District. Among these would be the inclusion of the western and southern part of Santa Ana in the proposed new congressional district. Hanna said he also expects the committee to divide the new congressional area to form two assembly districts, generally north and south of Katella Avenue. Hanna noted that these preliminary objections are subject to change by the committee during its hearings, which are expected to be held in Sacramento between May 1 and 5. Prospects for success of attempts to form two full congressional districts and four assembly districts entirely within the boundaries of Orange County are growing dimmer, Hanna said. However, he said the efforts by Orange County’s legislative representatives has not been abandoned. Orange County now has two assembly districts, the 75th and the 74th, and one congressional district, the 28th, which also includes a portion of San Diego.
