B4—Anaheim Gazette Anaheim, Thursday, Mar. 30, 1961 STATE Income TAX Question BOX QUESTION: Should I file my State personal income tax return on a regular Form 540 or the new simplified Form 540A? ANSWER: You can qualify for use of the new simplified, card-type Form 540A if: — Your gross income for 1960 was less than $15,000, and — Your income consisted entirely of wages, dividends and interest. This year you may elect to itemize your deduction on Form 540A, or either take the standard deduction or use the Optional Tax Table. Otherwise Form 540 should be used. The regular form also should be used by certain other classes of taxpayers, including those claiming the tax status of head of household. Those claiming a tax credit for income taxes paid to other states, and PTA HONORS MRS. MARTEN Surprised, Mrs. Royal C. Marten was the recipient of an honorary life member at the meeting of the Orangeview Junior High Parent-Teacher Association. Presenting the award to Royal Marten, who pointed that his wife has been actively interested in the community. 2 Anaheim FJC Students Cited Carolyn D. Perez and Steven B. Sutphin, both of Anaheim, were recognized as outstanding students in the Division of Business Education at Fullerton Junior College last week. The occasion was the college's annual Business Day. Miss Perez and Sutphin were two of seven students specially honored during a general assembly. Each was presented with a division award by E. Alva Straw, chairman of the division. Miss Perez was recognized for her work in secretarial courses, while Sutphin was honored for achievement in merchandising and selling. Business Education instructor Howard Wilson was in charge of the day's program, the theme for which was "Looking Ahead in Business." Ebell Daughters To Model Gowns Of 1849 to 1929 Daughters of senior Ebell Club members will model fashions from the Goodwill Industries, dating from 1849 to 1929. Tuesday during the general meeting of the Anaheim Junior Ebell Club. A barbershop quartet "plus one" will provide appropriate music to get the fashion show.
