Techniques Told By Makeup Man Members of the Mothers of Twins Club, Inc., Central Orange County chapter, were entertained with a cosmetology demonstration presented by Bob Theil, manager of the House of Presly, 930 N. Euclid t.S when they met recently at Peek's Terrace Room, Westminster. Theil, whose experience in the field of cosmetology includes the Miss Universe contest and several years in show business, displayed the correct techniques of applying cosmetics. A question and answer period followed the demonstration. WHS Choir to Aid Dedication Rites The 85-voice choir from Western High School, under the direction of Alexander Encheff, will entertain during the dedication ceremonies of Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress Sunday. Road Clearance Of Auto Could Prevent Death A little-publicized reason for the vehicle code section which sets minimum ground clearance limits for passenger vehicles was emphasized in a statement this week by Capt. F. E. Winchell, commander of the Anaheim Area, California Highway Patrol. "The life of a child could very well hinge on this law," Winchell said. "Suppose you are driving through a residential area when a child dashes in front of your car. It is impossible to stop before hitting the child. Since a youngster's body is no higher than the hood, the child almost always would be thrown to the ground. "Stock cars ordinarily have sufficient road clearance to allow a vehicle to pass over a body. From Policies Rise in State California families receive $269,510,000 during 1960 to death payments from their life insurance companies, the Institute of Life Insurance and nounced this week. The payments were made under 112,966 policies. In 1959 death payments totaled $236,648,000, under 103,176 policies. "The death benefits paid in this state last year were 16 percent more than 10 years ago," the institute's report commented. In 1950, they amounted to $101,351,000 under 58,519 policies. Ownership of life insurance in this state increased 24 percent between the start of 1950 and the start of 1960. Yosemite Visitors Mr. and Mrs. W. Conrad of 1127 N. Boden Dr. has been named manager of Electromechanical Engineering, Computer Products Operations, at Ford Motor Company's Aeronutronic Division, Newport Beach. A wartime Air Force test pilot, Conrad attended Butler and Wayne universities and was graduated from the Detroit (Mich.) College of Applied Science. His 11 years of engineering experience includes work as an engineering supervisor and designer for Michigan corporations. Student Aid Fund To Get Auxiliary Dance Receipts The Women's Auxiliary of the Orange County Pharmaceutical Association will hold a dinner dance March 24 at the Disneyland Hotel. Proceeds from the event will be used for the Student Loan Fund, which aids pharmacy students of the Orange County area who need financial assistance to finish school. Mrs. Robert Thomas was named chairman of a committee to upgrade the type of moving being presented for viewing. Vincent-Farnham Nuptials in June The Rev. and Mrs. H. J. Vincent of North Wilmington, Mass., announce the engagement of their daughter, Pauline F., of 1103 E. Center St., to Jim Lincoln Farnham of Riverside. The wedding date has been set for June 24 at the First Baptist Church in Riverside. Miss Vincent attended Sir George Williams College in Montreal, Canada, and is presently teaching at the Howell Academy, Anaheim.
