St. Jude Announces Spring Fashion Show
A high fashion "Spring Song" will await patrons of St. Jude Hospital Guild's fashion show March 9 when designer Travilla brings his spring collection to the Balboa Bay Club.
Tickets for the annual benefit are now on sale at the regular guild meeting in the staff room of the hospital. Proceeds from the show are carmarked for instruments for the hospital's cardiology research laboratory.
Travilla, formerly under contract to Warner Bros. and Fox studios, recently designed Joanne Woodward's wardrobe for "From the Terrace." He also creates Loretta Young's "entrance" gowns for her TV shows.
During his years with the movie studios he designed for Marilyn Monroe, Ginger Rogers, Jeanne Crain, Gene Tierney and other top stars.
His high fashion trademark is his use of imported fabrics and his flatteringly feminine designs. For the last five years he has maintained his own design salon in Beverly Hills.
Fashion show chairman Mrs. Norman Foss revealed the "Spring Song" theme will be carried out in table, favor, program and color scheme decorations.

Sub Debs Toil For Scholarship Award Fund
Actively working toward their scholarship awards,
Sub Debs, Anaheim H.
School service club, have schuled a chocolate bar sale in near future.
One of the annual projects this organization is to award two $250 scholarships to rated students.
Other projects participate in to build the scholarship fund included selling football programs at the Colonist game and creating mum corsages sell during the homecomfestivities.
"Scholarship applicants will be introduced during the M meeting of the club," report Miss Dora Golder, advisor to the club.
"The chocolate bars will sell for 25 cents each, our probeing 6 cents from each bar says Jane Sympson, Sub I president. "We hope the swill be a big success."

Rainbow to Install Saturday Evening
Anaheim Rainbow Assembly No. 182 has scheduled a colorful installation ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Maasonic Temple, Emily and Center St.
Van Scofield will be installed as worthy advisor.
Completing a very successful four-month term are Judy Dilley, present worthy advisor; Van Scofield, worthy associate advisor; Sheri Earp, Faith; and Joan Woody, Hope.
Some of the projects for the active leaders and their club included a fashion show sponsored by Mrs. Florence Smales of Fashion Models, Inc., of Anaheim, and charity project of securing new and used toys to be repaired as needed for the Children's Hospital.
Other officers during the last term were Grace Wear, recorder; Nayan Templeton, treasurer; Nancy Babnick, chaplain; Nancy Dilley, drill leader, and Joann Woollery, love.
Also serving the organization were Florence Chase, religion; Elaine Shearer, nature; Lin Leon, immortality; Delores Johnson, fidelity; Dianne Harding, patriotism; Nancy Roberts, service; Charlotte Turney, confidential observer; and Karen Frask, outer observer.
Sandra Loomer served as musician and Vicki Hull was choir director.
Induction Rites Held By Corps
Officers of the A. B. Paul Women's Relief Corps were recently installed by Ruth Jhonston, department secretary, and members of the Bellflower staff at the IOOF Hall.
Preceding the installing ceremonies a delicious chicken buffet dinner was served, followed by the traditional birthdays of the month celebration.
At 1 p.m. the meeting was called to order and the installing officers were escorted into the room and introduced.
Virginia Clossen was installed as president for the second term. She presented officers and substitutes with a lovely program; Mrs. K. O. Literature Theme of Program
An interesting literature program was recently presented at the home of Mrs. Henry Leesmann, 9311 S. Hillview Rd., pertaining members of the C Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Pi sorority.
Miss Diane Hirsch introduced the program which featured recordings to Edgar Allen Poole "Anabel Lee," one by Bar Rathbone and another by James Mason, after which performances were discussed. Miss Hirsch also presented a recording of Agnes Moorehead "Sorry, Wrong Number" for consideration.
Combined with the January meeting was a stork show with congratulations in order for Mrs. Arthur Barnett, who son was bordn in December and Mrs. John Myers, who daughter arrived in November. Both new mothers receive many lovely and useful gifts.
Presiding over the business meeting, Mrs. Percy Hilda brande announced, after a vote was taken, that the proposed Children's Hospital in Orange County would be the club service ice project for three years.
Awards List
Names of seven Anaheim students at the University of California, Berkeley, are among 507 freshmen who received "Honors at Entrance" awards in the past semester, university officials announced this week.
They are: Harry John Campbell, 2081 Norma Ln.; Daniel Homer D'Urso, 2210 El Romera St.; John Velco Fiorentin, 619 Reseda St.; James Allen Needham, 300 W. Katella Ave.; Bruce Michael Shawver, 518 Hawthorne; Joshua Jacob Tofield, 1421 Colonial St., and Mark Van Allen, 503 Harbor Blvd.
Names of the students selected for the award were made public by James C. Stone, acting associate director of admissions, and Lea Van P. Miller, chairman of the committee on undergraduate scholarships and honors.
Those honored represent approximately 13.3 per cent of the total number of 3,843 freshmen students who entered the university last September.
To qualify for the award, the student in most cases must earn “A's” in all but one of the high school subjects on which his admission is based.

Upsilon Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has completed plans for the Spring Rushing Season for new pledges.
Mrs. Joe Dame of 128 W. Margate Dr. will host a coffee hour in her home February 5 at which time prospective rushees will be introduced to the chapter.
The Ritual of Jewels for fall pledges was held recently at the Mill Restaurant in Fullerton. Welcomed and congratulated were Mrs. Ned Wolford and Mrs. Richard Medrud, new members of the chapter.

Guided by glowing candles,
new officers for the Zion Lutheran Two by Two Club were installed recently with Art Ray presiding.
Installed during the candlelight ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Stan Depue, presidents; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Thome, vice presidents; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thomson, secretaries; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Deffner, treasurers; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Claden, historians.
The ceremonies were followed by a square dance and the outgoing officers feted the incoming group by acting as refreshment committee.
Miss Warenskjold In Orange Concert
Presenting the lovely Miss Dorothy Warenskjold, star of opera, radio, television, and concerts, the Orange County Philharmonic Orchestra introduced its second concert of the subscription series this week in the Orange Coast College Auditorium, Costa Mesa.
Miss Warenskjold, lyric soprano, has performed with major opera companies throughout the United States and has become famous for her portrayal of more than a dozen leading operatic roles.
Many will recognize Miss Warenskjold through her regular appearances on "Voice of Firestone." She can also be heard on Capitol Records, "On Wings of Song" being her latest recording.
Conducting the evening performance was Frieda Belin-fante.

An Orange County woman has been nominated for a non-professional Nash Conservation Award given by American Motors each year for outstanding work in the field of conservation.
