Anaheim Gazette-B1 (Anaheim, Thursday, Sep. 22, 1900) Vital Water Issue Will Be Discussed At Dinner Meeting The Associated Chambers of Commerce of Orange County is preparing to entertain a capacity audience at its general membership dinner meeting Sept. 29 in the Beckman Instruments, Inc., building, 2500 Harbor Blvd. (formerly Fullerton Rd.) in Fullerton. The meeting, which will be open to the public, will feature a discussion of County and State water problems by Ralph M. Brody, deputy director of the State Department of Water Resources and special counsel to Governor Brown. Charles A. Pearson, Associated Chambers president, urged Orange County residents to attend the meeting in order to get a clear picture of the vital issues now confronting voters. Tickets at $4 each may be obtained by writing or telephoning the Associated Chambers of Commerce office at 2184 S. Harbor Blvd. in Anaheim, JE 4-2665. Fremont Y Council Holds First Meet Tuesday evening at the YMCA the first council meeting of the Fremont Y Council Holds First Meet Tuesday evening at the YMCA the first council meeting of the Fremont Junior Tri-Hi-Y clubs took place. Janice Wilson, president, called the meeting to order. The council is made up of president and council representatives from each club and the elected council officers. Each club is to have a Fun meeting this week so they can chat about their summer activities, catch up with all the news about leaders, and discuss plans for their club for the following year. The Y has a new trophy case which was purchased with money raised by the girls in Junior High clubs through promotion of Bell Brand potato chips last spring. The big project planned by the council was the joint potluck to be held Sept. 29 for all old members and any new girls wishing to join a Fremont Y club. OCSC Schedules Choir Auditions Auditions for the symphonic choir of Orange County State College, Fullerton, were held on the permanent campus at 800 N. Cypress Ave. Auditions will continue through October, according to David Thorsen, associate professor of music and choir director. Membership in the choir will be determined on the basis of musicianship, voice and experience. The choir will rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 on campus. The first presentation will be Mozart's "Requiem Mass," tentatively set for December. Basketball League Membership in the choir will be determined on the basis of musicianship, voice and experience. Basketball League Action Underway Coaches, managers and players are geared for action as plans for the forthcoming Major AAU Basketball League were told by Lynn Harman, loop manager. Harman anticipates a 10-team league with a round robin of games set for the Los Angeles City College gym. Teams interested in joining the fast moving loop are invited to call Harman at MAdison 5-8921, Ext. 557. Application blanks and entry rules are available on request. Health Board Meets Executive Director Miss Alice M. Wagner, newly appointed executive director of the Orange County Tuberculosis and Health Association, was introduced to the board of directors by Paul H. Demaree, president, at a luncheon meeting held at the Ship's Bell Restaurant. Miss Wagner is a native of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Prior to her arrival in Orange County, she was a consultant with the National Tuberculosis Association located in New York City.
