Centralia School Administrators Enjoy Travels During Vacations
Vacation time gave several Centralia School District administrators an opportunity to fulfill long-time ambitions to travel during the summer.
Superintendent Glen H. Dysinger Sr. and Mrs. Dysinger pulled their trailer, "Teacher's Pet," to Northern California in the Fort Bragg area. His interest in nature study and early California history was rewarded with new material for already bulging files. The Dysingers stayed at three different state camps in the area and found the scenery and rugged coastline provided plenty of photographic shots to enjoy at home in Fullerton in the months to come. A ride on the famous narrow gauge railroad between Fort Bragg and Willits, known to visitors as "The Skunk," was a one-day highlight of the holiday.
Palmer G. Campen, assistant superintendent of business, used only part of his vacation for pleasure. Besides working on research
from USC, Mr. and Mrs. Campen and their two daughters Julie and Claudia, spent four days in San Diego, seeing the sights through tourists' eyes. The Campens live in Anaheim,
A cross-country trip to his home state of New Jersey was enjoyed by the district's assistant superintendent of education, George C. Williams, and his family who live in Huntington Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Pamela, Chris, and "Candy" Hauwirth, a niece, traveled comfortably in a small bus-type machine, camping and sightseeing along the way.
Two Centralia district principals enjoyed visiting "far away" places. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Miller and three daughters of Garden Grove sailed from Miami, Florida, for Nassau in the Bahamas soon after school was out, where they visited relatives. They included a motor trip along the east coast before returning home. He is principal at Dysinger school in Centra
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hund, 1707 E. Redwood Anaheim, on the birth of the baby girl. The infant weighed at 7 lbs. 1 oz.
The A. B, Paul Women's Relief Corps of Anaheim members and guests met in the banquet room of the IOOF Hall where a buff luncheon was served and members whose birthday fell during the month were honored with cards and a beautifully decorated cake.
Distinguished guests from Padena and Santa Ana were introduced.
Baby Edward St. Leger was adopted as mascot of the corps.
Nine new members weremitted to the club.
Members and guests of the censored Vocational Nurses League of California, Orange County District 1, held a benefit luau members and friends.

The All States Society Picnic in Long Beach is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Recreation Park. That's Columbus Day. Guest speaker will be Vice-President Richard Nixon.
A newly formed group of tennis enthusiasts have organized a tennis club called "The Court Jesters Tennis Club." Anyone interested in playing tennis just for fun can contact B. Bonks, secretary, of 603 S. Priscilla St., Anaheim, about membership.
The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Emet of Anaheim held their first monthly meeting in the Temple, 400 N. Emily St., Anaheim.
Rabbi Aaron J. Tofield presented an introductory speech. The program, under the direction of Mrs. Philip Moddel, was presented by Sisterhood members. Refreshments were served after the meeting.
At the meeting of Our Lady of the Rosary Institute held in the Anaheim Assistance League Clubhouse Sept. 7, with Mrs. Don Dailey presiding, "School Days" was the setting for the evening.
The "classes" were in charge of Mrs. Dailey, Mrs. David Prichard, Mrs. Bart Pasini, Mrs. Ray Hudson and Mrs. Joseph White, teachers. The members were given a pink bow for their hair, each name plate represented a slate. The charade presented by the teachers and others was nursery rhymes in pantomime, the members trying to guess what the rhyme was. The beautiful cake made in the form of a Little Red Schoolhouse complete with playground equipment, fericed yard and children, was the art work of Mrs. Gordon Clark. The cake was auctioned and the winner was Mrs. Wm. Jolissaint During the social hour "a snack in a bag" was served by the committee: Mrs. Dona Yester, Mrs. Reese Worden, Mrs. James Weitzel, Miss "Keys to Our City" converts which is to be held in the Disc land Hotel on Sept. 17 was John Cyprien. Others attend will be Mrs. Don Dailey, Joseph White, Mrs. David Pard, Mrs. Ray Hudson and Bart Pasini-All members urged to attend the convention.

The 1960 Orange County Antique Show will be presented Sept. 22-23-24-25 in the Retail Clerks’ Auditorium, Buena Park. Tickets are on sale by county antique dealers.
Two new sections of Anaheim Junior Ebell Club are being organized as the club year gets under way.
The Arts, Crafts and Music Section will begin work on bazaar items.
The Education and Home Section is soon to get under way.

'Fall Forecast'
Fashions Slated By Women's Unit
"Fall Forecast," the second annual fashion show sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women of St. Anthony Claret parish, will be held on Oct. 1, at 1:30 p.m., in the Carpenters' Union Hall, 608 W. Vermont St., Anaheim.
Mrs. Robert Immegart and Mrs. Robert Hoy are co-chairmen of the event which will feature dessert and coffee, following by fashions presented by the Fashion Models, Inc. A wide selection of styles and prices will be shown from various Orange County stores.
Mrs. Tim Brunet, door prize chairman, has promised an excellent array of prizes for the lucky ticket holders.
The fall theme will be carried out in the decorations, according to Mrs. Kavanaugh and Mrs. Jerome Benoit, co-chairmen of the decoration committee.
Mrs. Mildred Armstrong is ticket chairman and reservations may be made by calling KE 5-8270. Ticket donations are $2 per person with all proceeds going to the St. Anthony Claret building fund.

Fashion Luncheon
Aeronutronics Wives Club will hold its first meeting of the season at Balboa Bay Club on the Coast Highway in Newport Beach Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m.
Luncheon will be followed by a fashion show. Mrs. Florence Smales, director of a leading model and charm school, will be commentator. Several of Mrs. Smales' models and four members of the Wives Club will show fashions from popular Orange County shops.

A book review benefit featuring Georgiana Hardy will be sponsored by Anaheim Altrusa Club at a luncheon in the Gourmet Restaurant of Disneyland Hotel Sept. 24. Mrs. Hardy's coast-to-coast TV program won the Peabody award for the best educational show in the United States in '53.
