BLM Office Resumes Sale of Public Land The Los Angeles Office of the Bureau of Land Management will resume sales of public lands with seven parcels scheduled for sale in August. The parcels are being sold under the public sale law which gives preference to adjoining owners and does not limit the number of isolated parcels one individual may purchase. Nolan F. Keil, Assistant to State Supervisor, said that these public sales are the first to be held in Los Angeles since such sales were halted last December at the request of the House Government Operations Committee. The parcels, 29.1 to 238.68 acres in sizes, are located in Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. The appraised values or minimum acceptable bids range from $7 to $130 per acre. Full details as to location, time of sale, and minimum acceptable bids for each offered parcel, together with instructions for submitting bids may be obtained from the Los Angeles Land Office, 215 West Seventh Street, Los Angeles. Record Attendance 50 OC Fair Ends Hawaiian Holidays The 1960 edition of the Orange City Fair which set a new all-time high record attendance is a flock of happy memories. The "Hawaiian Holidays" edi- of the fair closed its six-day at the county fairgrounds in Mesa Sunday night. Fair officials it is a fair will be remembered for its dance and enthusiasm of the dots which attended and par-tested in the fair's happy Ha-rian theme by wearing aloha s, muu-muuus, tea-timers and attendance for the first five days (through Saturday night) tallied 97,791. Complete figures on Sunday's attendance and verifica- tion of earlier figures by tabula- tion were expected to show total attendance well over he 101,561 all-tim high registered by the fair in 1956. Cindy Gillette of Orange, reigning beauty queen of the big show, and her princesses—Lynne Davis of Santa Ana and Jeannie Campbell of Fullerton—probably have a memory of eating, and eating, and eating—having fun like teen- aged girls will do at a colorful spectacle like a county fair. The young people sampled watermelon, hot dogs-on-a-stick, choco-late- covered bananas, cotton candy and all the rest of the fair's food specialties during the week.
