Anaheim Union High School District, deep in plans of development of school sites and school buildings projects, is attempting to locate schools in areas of greatest need, district officials said. Since March of 1959 the following projects have been authorized by the state for development by the district. Each new school will be able to furnish the same educational program that the older schools in the district are now forming. Each budget for the project is a complete budget and includes all of the necessary expenses to construct and equip the project for occupancy. Items such as architectural fees, engineering, structural, inspection, site development, furniture and equipment, are all included in the budget figure given for each project, officials pointed out. ONLY $24,893 TO GO Annual OC Cancer Crusade Nets 80 Per Cent of Goal Preliminary reports show that the American Cancer Society's Orange County Cancer Crusade has achieved about 80 per cent of its goal, Mrs. Boyer, Crusade chairman, announced today. "We need just $24,893 to push us over the top," she said. "We believe that if those persons still holding onto neighbor-to-neighbor kits would return them to their local crusade workers, and that if people who are receiving our direct mail appeals were to send their donations now, Orange County would be one of the outstanding branches in meeting one of the county's highest crusade goals," Mrs. Boyer added. She reported that the Cancer Society had set itself a higher quota this year—$105,895—in order to accelerate the research attack on cancer. "As everyone knows, cancer's cost in individual human suffering is incredibly high," Mrs. Boyer said. "But few people realize its staggering dollars-and-cents cost to patients and their families." SHE CITED in point that the average cancer patient spends approximately $900 for medical care annually, loses six years of gainful employment and $24,000 in income. "The annual costs of hospitalization for cancer patients alone is more ($350,000,000) than 11 times what the public gave the ACS last year," she said. President Jake V.
