Garden Clubs Hold Local Flower Show
Members of the Anaheim Garden Club and the East Anaheim Garden Club combined their flower growing and flower arranging talents to produce one of the area's finest flower shows.
Amateur joined professional in exhibiting blooms and turned the Anaheim Ebell Clubhouse into a floral paradise last week.
CHAIRMAN for this beautiful and sweet-scented affair was Mrs. S. K. Watters, assisted by Mmes. Walter Ward, William P. Hall, Harold Franzen and H. T. Perry.
Assisting in the judging were Mmes. L. H. Grigsby, Blanche Irvine, Malcolm MacPhearson and Armond Fevergeon. Refreshment hostesses for the show were Mmes. Curtis Reiber and B. R. Copeland.

Mrs. Robert Bell hostessed Upsilon Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority with W. J. Atherton presiding.
Vice-president-elect Mrs. Samuel J. Butler announced the dates for pledge training schedule. First meeting will be May 26, at the home of Mrs. Butler, 1305 Gilbert, Anaheim. Remainder of the schedule dates will be announced at a later date.
Cultural program was given by Mrs. Perry McCluskey and Mrs. Butler.
Attending the meeting were Mmes. W. J. Atherton, George Cesped, Samuel Butler, Perry McCluskey, Robert Bell, Joe Lintz, Kenneth Mapes, Richard Starr. Guest attending was Mrs. K. Agte, Fullerton.
Next meeting hostess will be Mrs. George Cesped, of 126 Midway Manor, Anaheim.
WS Colorado Folk Plan All-Day Picnic
Western Slope Colorado Natives will again hold their annual all-day picnic, May 15 at Anaheim City Park.
Those attending should bring their lunch and table service. Free coffee will be served. SEE YOU THERE!
B'nai B'rith Covenant Chapter will sponsor a gala Installation affair at Domino's Restaurant, 1731 S. Harbor Blvd. in Anaheim, Sunday, May 15th, states Mrs. Jay Wise, chairman. Mrs. David Harris, past president of District Women's Grand Lodge, District No. 4, will honor the group as Installing Officer. Mrs. Murray Balmages, past president of B'nai B'rith, will be assistant Installing Officer.
Decorations and flowers will hance the event. From the witching hour from 7 p.m., p.m. cocktails and hors d'oeuf will be served. A deluxe, super steak dinner will then follow appeal to the gourmet's applause. Dinner will precede the Institution, followed by Domino't show and dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Burk, 732 Hawthorne, announced the engagement of their daughter, Georgia Ann (Jan), to Guy Lewis Bennett Jr. Twelve relatives were present at the lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Cerney, 215 Charlene Terrace, to witness the betrothal announcement.
The bride-elect graduated from Anaheim High School and is presently employed as a dental assistant.
Bennett is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bennett Sr. of Santa Ana. He is engaged in business with his father.
The couple have planned an early fall wedding.
Mrs. Elsie Sale and Mrs. Celia Rinehart of Anaheim were luncheon guests in the Thomas Zweifel home in Modjeska Canyon.
The Anaheim Council of Church Women held a May Fellowship on May 6 at the West Anaheim Methodist Church.

Beginning bridge classes under
the auspices of the Anaheim Park
and Recreation Department began
a new eight weeks series at the
Optimist Clubhouse. Registration

A breakfast was held in Pearson City Park by the Chispa Chapter No. 151 of Anaheim's Eastern Star to benefit their Cancer fund.
Barbara Hobson reports a good turn-out at the Hamburger Fry held for members and guests of the newly formed Trailer Club, officially dubbed the "Anaheim Aloha Club." Monthly rendezvous to points of interest will highlight the club's activities. Local trailer owners are welcome to join the group by calling KE 5-7735.
June 16 has been set for the wedding of Katheryn A. Coffey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil C. Moore of 10152 Gravier St., Anaheim, to Robert A. Fowler of Westminster, in the Capilla de San Antonio Wedding Chapel.
Miss Coffey is a graduate of Anaheim Union High Srool and attended Fullerton Junior College.
Mrs. Frances E. Fitzgerald, 401 Pine St., Anaheim, retires after serving 34 years as telephone operator. She was recently honored by fellow workers of the Pacific Telephone Co. at a luncheon held at Bullock's Tea Room, Santa Ana.

Miss Joyce Arleen Mosgrove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Mosgrove of Anaheim, became the wife of Jack Allen, son of Mr. Mrs. J. C. Daniels of Comp-Friday evening in pretty rites Ferndale Chapel. Rev. Byron Field read the double ring service.
Given away by her father, Joyce charming in chantilly lace or satin fashioned with portrait skline and cap sleeves with the skirt falling to the floor in a train. Her graceful veil was made by a heartshaped tiara of pearls and she carried a casse bouquet of white carnations on roses.
MRS. HARRY JORDAN, maiden of honor, was gowned in pale black chiffon with net fan in the blue color accented with a spray white carnations. Bridesmaid, Mrs Pat Murphy, was dressed in similar fashion in pale blue.
Harry Jordan was best man and Harry Sagert was usher.
Little Debbie O'Donald was ever girl in pale yellow and Rob-Peplin was ring bearer. Miss Sanders was at the guest k.
Exception in the chapel social hall, the bridal couple left for a honey-moon in Las Vegas and at Colorado River resorts.
The new Mrs. Allen is a senior in Western High School, Anaheim. Her husband attended South Gate High School and Compton College.
Camp Improvement Project Underway For Summer Season
Two annual Anaheim YMCA work weekend camps at Y Camp Osceola will be held on May 14-15 and May 28-30, according to A. L. Bud Mahoney, Y Camp building committee chairman.
Over 20 projects from conditioning the swimming pool to painting the camp lodge and craft buildings are scheduled. Several hundred workers and family members will take part in getting the camp ready for a full summer camp season. Several new buildings and program facilities are underway at camp, Mahoney reported.

Roscom-Manery Nuptials Recited During Impressive Church Rites
A May Day wedding in the impressive setting of St. Anthony, Claret Catholic Church united Miss Phyllis Jeanette Roscom and Floyd Manery Jr.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William N. Roscom of 1835 E. Elm, Anaheim. She attended St. Boniface School, Fremont Junior High School and Anaheim Union High School. She is a member of the a cappella choir and St. Anthony Claret choir and is employed by Disneyland.
Her husband, of 1816 Chelsea Dr., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Floyd Manery Sr. of Colbert, Okla. He is employed by Tastee Freeze in Anaheim.
Father Francis Kelly, assistant pastor of St. Anthony's Claret, read the nuptials before an altar banked with baskets of white gladioli, stocks, and pink carnations. The alsies were marked with white satin bows which the array of white carnations and caught with shimmering satin streamers.
In keeping with tradition the new Mrs. Manery selected as something old and borrowed a handkerchief from her grandmother, a new string of pearls which were a gift from the groom, and a blue garter.
Mrs. Janice Kaestner of Orange was the matron of honor in the bridal procession. The Misses Judy Dold of Anaheim and Shirley Mosley, niece of the benedict, were maids of honor. Each of the attendants wore matching nylon over satin frocks in orchid, blue and pink, respectively. Sheer nylon jackets, white embroidered with a leaf and petal effect added emphasis to their gowns. Petite headbands and white gloves were their accessories. The dresses were complemented with dainty white carnation corsages.

THE BRIDE was given in marriage by her father. She was radiant in white Cahill original floor-length gown. The satin frock designed with a fitted bodice and short sleeves accented with a Chantilly lace yoke adorned with a multitude of seed pearls. The bouffant skirt swept into a chapel train.
A pearl tiara held the sheer finger-tip veil of net illusion in place. Her bridal bouquet was a white orchid corsage nestled in an
