SF’s Christopher To Address First Friars Here on May 6
Speaker for the First Friday Friars of Orange County at their May 6 luncheon here will be Mayor George Christopher, of the City and County of San Francisco.
Born in Greece in 1907, Mayor Christopher came to this country in 1913. Forced to leave day school at 14 because of his father's illness, he completed his formal education at night school. He received a degree in accounting from the Golden Gate College of Accounting in San Francisco, and entered that field. Consequently he found himself heading a small dairy four years after his graduation. Today, that small dairy farm is the highly successful Christopher Dairy Farms.
FOLLOWING HIS meteoric rise in the business world, Mr. Christopher entered politics in 1945 as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. He became president of the board and then ran for mayor in 9155. Elected by the largest majority in the history of the city, he was re-elected for an additional four years in 1959.

"Our State is one of the fastest growing in the Nation and its expanding population is making greater and greater use of the forest resources. More and more our people are turning to the outdoors for recreation, for hunting and fishing. We are utilizing increasing quantities of wood in home construction, and the water needs of California are growing at an astronomical rate. To a large extent the future of our State is tied to now effectively we protect our
