Anaheim Gazette April 15, 22, 1960) LEGAL NOTICE rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September, 1959 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.C.O., Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. If it falls on the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to all laborers workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 28th day of April, 1960 at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked in the upper left corner "Sealed proposals for construction of Project No. 57." The Improvement of Western Ave. from 1390 south of Lincoln Ave. to 624 north of Orange Ave., in the City of Anaheim, together with the name and address of the bldder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded by an officer designated after it if the successful bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim.
