Lies are attached to the perforated splines. Old-fashioned clothes poles are eliminated in favor of space-conserving accessories designed to hold the myriad items that find their way into a closet—clothing of all types, shoes, hat boxes, purses. An alternate method of improving closet storage potential is to line the interior—and the door — with Peg-Board, the "Masonite" with so many rows and rows of holes. This may be done right over studs in new construction or over furring strips tracks in the ceiling and top of cabinet and insert hard-board doors. These can be painted or enameled attractively by a home maker. Two Masonite hardboards have been found ideal for boosting the useful storage space in closets —anelok and Pegboard. The former can, with its line of special accessories, raise the potential 50 percent. This system, consisting of hardboard panels supported vertically by metal splines, is used to line the closet.
