Ebells Hear Author-Philosopher Clark
Author-philosopher John Robert Clark spoke to the Anaheim Junior Ebell Club on "The Importance of Being Imperfect."
"Why do some people grow together while others only growl together?" Clark asked in his provocative talk.
Clark, who recently returned from a trip to Europe, said families abroad are using home-grown humor and comedy to cope with an anxious and disturbed world.
Preceding the program Mrs. Donald Gordon, president, introduced and welcomed 13 past presidents and advisors of the club. She also introduced Mrs. Lyle Schermitzler, first vice-president of the California Federation of Women's Clubs, junior membership; Mrs. Don Taylor, vice-president-at-large of Area C; Mrs. Walter Dabney, president of Orange District; Mrs. W. L. Caplinger, co-ordinator of the Orange District, and Mrs. Ernest D. Rose, president of The Ebell Club of Anaheim.

Val Sage of Anaheim Stars In 'Glass Menagerie'; Opens Today

"The Glass Menagerie," the famous Tennessee Williams lpay, opens for a six night run at Fullerton Junior College today in the Little Theater auditorium.
Heading the cast of four is Val Sage of Anaheim, playing the role of Tom Wingfield, the frustrated son torn between love for his mother and sister and his own ambitions. Marion Eller of Fullerton takes the part of Amanda Wingfield, the mother; Ed Strauss of Fullerton, the "gentleman caller"; and Nancy McFadden of Garden Grove, Laura, the pathetic and crippled daughter.
THE PLAY, which will also be presented on March 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26, is directed by Mrs. Virginia Duncan, FJC drama coach. The student production staff is headed by Dick Odle of Fullerton, set design;
Senior Citizens Visit Capistrano
Proving that they still get around as much as anyone, Anaheim's Senior Citizens Club, under the sponsorship of the Park and Recreation Department will leave Saturday, March 19 to attend festivities on "Swallow Day" at San Juan Capistrano Mission.

Mrs. Kenneth Keith, general chairman for the recent benefit fashion show, presented a check of $2300 to H. N. Warren, treasurer of the Orange County Children's Hospital. The proceeds from the benefit were earmarked for the Children's Hospital building fund.
Mrs. Donald Gordon introduced Mrs. Kent Campbell, president of the foreign student exchange program in Anaheim and presented her with a check for $100 to be used in that field.
Mrs. Robert Reaves, youth chairman, introduced Miss Carolyn Ann Hennings, winner of the Teenage Miss contest, Carolyn Ann received a $25 savings bond for her award. She now goes on to the Orange District for judging.
Pomona Exercises
Dennis L. Claussen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Claussen of 9912 Placentia Ave., Anaheim, was among 230 Pomona College freshmen who participated in annual matriculation ceremonies on the college campus Saturday.
Claussen is a zoology major.
BPW Wins Award
Anaheim Business and Professional Women's Club is recipient of first award in the Orange County Council of Business and Professional Women's Clubs attendance contest.

"From my long interest in the work and principles of the Children's Home Society of California came the impetus which has led me to participate, as a volunteer, in the activities of more than 20 welfare, religious and civic organizations."
This expression was voiced by Mrs. Hideo H. Kodani of Pacific Palisades when she spoke to members of the Magnolia Guild, an auxiliary of the society, at their March meeting. Presiding was Mrs. Claude Owens, president of the Guild.
As a member of the Los Angeles District Board of the statewide organization, Mr. Kodani recognized that the principles of the Children's Home Society were ones he could be transferred to his work in relocating refugee children for the United Nations. Mrs. Kodani leaves shortly for Mexico where she will observe for the United Nations, being done at an Education Center for underprivileged children.
TREASURER OF THE UNITED STATES TO BE GUEST SPEAKER AT EASTER SEAL LUNCHEON—Mrs. Ivy Baker Priest, treasurer of the United States, will be the guest speaker at the 1960 Easter Seal campaign luncheon at the Revere House, Tustin, on April 7. Announcement of the event, sponsored by the Santa Ana division of the Cannon Electric Company, was made by Mrs. Louis Cella, Jr., Santa Ana, 1960 Orange County Easter Seal chairman. Approximately 200 civic and business leaders will attend the luncheon which marks the start of the seal sale program of the Orange County Society for Crippled Children and Adults to raise funds to carry out the work of providing the crippled with physical care, vocational training, help in economic and physical adjustment and rehabilitation services. Increased funds are needed this year in view of the construction of the initial unit of the rehabilitation center which will cost in excess of $100,000, according to Mrs. Cella.

Cake Decorating Classes Set Here
Fancy cake decorating techniques for all occasions and holidays will be the goal of the Department’s new Cake Decorating classes.
The classes, which have enjoyed much success already this year, will begin on Wednesday, March 23, in the Salvation Army building. Mrs. Bob Sawyer will conduct the lessons which will be held every Wednesday for eight weeks from 9:30 to noon. Registration fee is $2.50 which should be paid at the Recreation office, 309 S. Palm.

Rare Japanese Prints In FJC Exhibit Apr. 1
A rare and unusual exhibition of Japanese woodblock prints will be on exhibit in the Fullerton Junior College Exhibit Hall until April 1.
The new exhibit hall, located in the art-home economics building on Chapman Avenue, is open daily during school hours.
The prints on display include a number made directly from original 18th and 19th century woodblocks.
The display is under sponsorship of the college art department.
