In any clothes, linen, or broom closets,
SECTION $300.22. Outlets.
All outlets and appurtenances shall be left clean, exposed and uncovered.
Any person covering any outlets in any buildings shall, at their own expense locate and uncover such outlet, or outlets and shall repair all damage in locating such outlet, or outlets.
SECTION $300.26. Transformers.
Bell furnace or low voltage control transformers shall be installed in a grounded metal can or in a separate compartment of a distribution panel located at the distribution center on a separate circuit, or on the appliance branch circuit and provided with an isolating switch. All condensors of transformers rated fifty watts or twenty-four volts shall be safely provided with overcurrent protective devices.
SECTION $300.27. Electrical Standards for Trailer Park Wiring.
Equipment.
This article shall apply to all electrical utilization equipment which operates at more than 25 volts, or which transmits, transfers, or utilizes more than 50 watts in trailer parks and trailer coaches in trailer parks, and also applies to the installation of transformers, service equipment, and other equipment used for supply or control of electrical energy when such equipment is installed in such places as covered by this article.
Installation of Materials.
All wiring where not specifically covered by this Ordinance shall be installed in accordance with the Electrical Safety Orders of the State of California, General Orders 55 of the State of California, or any other State laws that may apply to wiring. Electrical installation in Cabanas.
All electrical work shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the electrical requirements for dwelling as found in the Anaheim Municipal Electrical Code and the wiring methods as found in the Electrical Safety Orders of the State of California.
Wiring.
All electrical wiring shall be enclosed within the walls of the building except that surface wiring shall be of approved types.
Demand Service and Feeders.
Service and feeders shall be determined on 100% demand on first ten (10) spaces, 80% on second ten (10) spaces, and 50% for all over the first twenty (20) spaces. Service and feeders shall be calculated on the basis of 2400 watts (20 amps, 120 volts) minimum per site up to twenty-five (25) feet in length; 3600 watts (30 amps, 120 volts) minimum per site.
Site service supply shall terminate on the same side of site as the sewer tran.
Diagram.
An electrical diagram and complete specifications acceptable to the enforcing agency shall be submitted with each set of drawings.
Underground Cable.
If underground direct burial cable is to be used, it shall be a minimum of two (2) feet in the ground and protected from damage with a cover prior to backfilling the trench. Covering to be two (2) inch by six (6) inch redwood or equivalent. Cable shall not be permitted less than one (1) foot radial distance from water sewer or gas lines.
Wiring.
In every trailer park electric wiring fixtures and equipment shall be installed in a safe and approved workmanlike manner and maintained to the satisfaction of the Electrical Inspector.
Lightning Circuits.
Every cabana shall have not less than one (1) light circuit and two (2) appliance receptacles installed at convenient locations. The outlets shall be on separate branch circuits independent of any circuit supplying a trailer or other building or cabana. Electrical heating equipment shall be served by separate branch circuits.
Awnings.
No electrical outlets shall be installed or used within any awning other than those installed on the exterior of a trailer coach.
Illumination.
In every trailer park there shall be installed and kept burning from sunset to sunrise sufficient artificial light to adequately illuminate every building containing public foillets and public showers, and the area or tract of land containing the trailer park.
Exposed non-current—carrying metal parts of all trailers and other equipment shall be grounded in one of the following ways:
(a) By means of a grounding conductor run with the circuit conductors in cable assemblies of the approved outdoor type or flexible cord type "a" or equal, provided an approved multi-prong plug or equivalent is used, one prong for the purpose of connecting such ground conductor to the grounded metal raceway or cable armor; this conductor may be uninsulated but if an individual covering is provided for this conductor it shall be finished to show a green color. An additional contact shall be provided in the receptacle for ground purposes.
(b) Any equipment directly connected to a grounded metallic wiring system is acceptable in lieu of the requirements of sub-division (a) of this section. Exposed non-current carrying metal parts of motors generally follows: Line voltage between 125 volts shall be computed thickness.

The maximum size overcurrent protection shall not exceed the rating of the receptacle at the trailer site. Other sizes of overcurrent protection shall be in accordance with table in Section $300.22.
SECTION $300.22.
Wiring Devices.
There shall be a grounded receptacle at all sites based on a minimum of 30 amps, for all sites up to twenty-five (25) feet in length and 30 amps, minimum for all sites over twenty-five (25) feet in length but in no case shall the receptacle be rated less than the overload protection used.
Wire Sizes.
For Utility Buildings:

Exception: Several Motors on One Branch Circuit.
Two or more motors may be connected to the same branch circuit under the following conditions.
Two (2) or more motors each not exceeding one (1) horsepower in rating and each having a full-load rated current not exceeding 6 amps, may be used on a branch circuit protected at not more than 20 amps at 125 volts or less, or 15 amps at 600 volts or less. Individual running overcurrent protection is not required, unless the motor is automatically started or is out of sight of the starting location.

Load Cups

SECTION $200.29.
Voltage Drop.
Voltage drop shall not exceed 5% on distribution system. (Demand Load).
Rules Overhead Lines.
All outside and overhead wiring shall conform to the standards of the California Public Utilities "Rules for Overhead Line Construction."
All overhead wiring within the park shall be covered with double braid weather-proof or better.
Exposure.
All switches, receptacles and control equipment located outdoors shall be in a weatherproof or six sided enclosure so constructed or protected that exposure to the weather will not interfere with its successful operation.
No Pull Chains.
All lights in utility buildings must be switched. No pull chains allowed.
Protective Devices.
All overcurrent protective devices on branch circuits shall be non-tamperable.
Control Equipment.
Control equipment shall be located not less than three (3) feet nor more than six (6) feet six (6) inches above the ground or with a permanent working platform. Sufficient space shall be provided and maintained about electrical equipment to permit ready and safe operation. Where parts require examination, adjustment, or repair during operation or while live parts are exposed, adequate working space shall be provided and maintained to permit this work being performed safely. This work-space shall not be less than two and one-half (2½) feet.
Road Lighting.
A minimum of two (2) foot canals is required for protective yard lighting on all roadways and walkways.
Site Service Supply.
EXCEPTIONS: 1. Direct burial conductors may be run at right angles under sidewalks or driveways that are not more than 12 feet wide.
2. Direct burial conductors may be used underneath the asphalt paving of automobile parking lots, automobile sales lots, drive-in theaters and the like.
(b) Direct burial cable for circuits of over 600 volts may be used on airports and similar premises where pole line construction would be a hazard to life and where the length of underground runs make other wiring methods impracticable. Such wiring may only be installed by special permission and in conformity with those requirements the Department considers necessary to insure a reasonably safe installation.
Raceways.
(a) Where extending into buildings, or under footings, or pavements or the like, conductors approved for direct burial may be run in conduit. The ends of conduits that extend into building or above ground shall be terminated in accordance with the requirements of Part 3 of this Code. A conduit bushing shall be provided at the underground end of a conduit where a change is made from metal conduit to direct burial cable. The underground ends of such conduit need not be accessible.
(b) Isolated sections of metallic raceways shall be grounded. The grounding conductor may be run as a direct burial conductor.
Installation of Direct Burial Conductors of Less Than 600 Volts.
(a) Direct burial conductors shall not be installed in filled ground or in locations under drainage ditches.
(b) Metal armored direct burial cable shall be installed at least one foot below the ground surface, except when in wiring enclosures approved for the locations involved.
(c) Other types of direct burial cable shall be installed as follows:
1. The conductors shall be buried at least 18 inches below the ground surface.
2. The conductors shall be installed in a trench independent of any trench for piping or conduits.
3. The conductors shall not be laid in any trench through solid rock or containing sharp rock, unless suitable bedding and covering earth is employed.
4. The conductors shall be separated at least eight inches from any piping or conduit crossing the conductor trench.
5. The conductors shall be protected on the top side by a creosoted redwood plank at least six inches wide and two inches in wiring method outside of the exterior perimeter walls and footings of buildings. Direct burial conductors shall not be used as a wiring method underneath sidewalls or pavement.

6. The grounding conductor installed as direct burial wire shall comply with the requirements of this Division for undergrounded conductors.
(d) Where direct burial conductors enter or leave the earth, the conductors shall be installed in raceways approved for the conditions involved.
(e) Direct burial conductors shall be spaced or taped in accessible pull boxes or injection boxes.
(f) All wires of the same circuit will be installed in the same trench.
SECTION $300.31. Community Buildings and Laundry Locations.
Calculations for feeders or service or above buildings shall be based on the table in Section $300.21. No more than two convenience outlets per circuit at ironing board locations.
SECTION $300.32. Temporary Service Pole.
(a) Minimum size pole shall be 4" x 20" pole shall be erected in aumb position bottom four feet shall be crossted and buried five feet in ground.
Service cap and conduit shall extend to a height of four feet above ground level. Conduit shall not be less than 8% inch trade size. Service conductors to line side of switch shall not be less than No. 5 A.W.G. wire in size.
Conduits shall be encased in fibre conduit or wood mold starting under service cap and extending down pole for a distance of sight feet.
SECTION $300.33. Same Service Equipment.
All service equipment such as meters, switches, panels and receptacles of a type classed as approved in tight equipment.
SECTION $300.34. Same Grounding.
If water line is not available for grounding, a driven ground is permissible if the driven ground is not smaller than 8% inch galvanized pipe or approved ground rod driven to a depth of sight feet.
The neutral ground shall not be smaller than No. 5 A.W.G. wire enclosed in 1/4 inch rigid conduit.
All nipples entering case including service conduit shall be bonded use of bond bushing and No. 5 A.W.G. wire to the ground pipe in switch.
SECTION $300.35. Same Receptacles.
Receptacles used shall be of a three-wire polarized type and if for 110 volt or 220 volt shall be of a type that is not interchangeable.

SECTION $300.37. Emergency and Exit Lighting Requirements.
(a) Exit Illumination. Exits shall be illuminated at all times with light having an intensity of not less than one foot candle at floor level.

At every exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required to clearly indicate the direction of greens, an exit sign with letters at least five inches high shall be provided from all areas serving the occupant load specified in this subsection. In interior stairways the floor level leading direct to the exterior shall be clearly indicated.
1. Groups B, C, D and H occupant load of more than 50.
2. All other occupancies, serving an occupant load of more than 100.
(e) Illumination of Signs. Exits shall be lighted in the following occupancies with two electric lamps of not less than 15 watts each, in the manner specified in this subsection.
1. Two separate sources of supply shall be required for Group A occupancy and Division 1 and 2 of Group B, except buildings with occupant loads less than 750 persons used in churches, lodges, recreation halls and gymnasiums.
2. Separate circuits, one which shall be separated from all other circuits in the building, shall be required for the following occupancies:
(a) Groups A, B, and C occupants with an occupant load of over 300 persons and not otherwise regulated in this subsection.
(b) Groups D and H occupancies with an occupant load over 100 persons.
(c) Group F occupancies with an occupant load over 1,000 persons.
(d) Emergency Service.
1. Group "A" Occupancy Emergency Service shall mean a separate independent service used exclusively to supply emergency lights, exit lights, or emergency equipment required by this Chapter, or any Code Ordinance or Order, and which service is supplied by one of the following methods:
(a) By a different serving agency than that supplying the general lighting or equipment.
(b) By a different primary mains from the same or different substation than the mains supplying the general lighting or equipment.
2. Group "B" Occupancy Emergency Service shall mean an approved storage battery used exclusively to supply emergency lights, exit lights, or emergency equipment required by this section.

2. The provision of this Chapter shall not apply to installations used by Electric Supply, railway or communication utilities in the exercise of their functions as a utility.
3. The installation, alternation or renewal of electrical equipment installed by or for an Electricity Supply Agency for the use of such agency in the generation, transmission distribution or metering of electricity.
(d) Application for such permit describing the work to be done shall be made in writing to the Electrical Inspector by the person, firm or corporation installing the work.
The Application shall be accompanied by such plans specifications and schedules as may be necessary to determine whether the installation is described will be in conformity with the requirements of this Chapter and of the Electrical Safety Orders of the State of California. If it shall be found that the installation is described will conform with all legal requirements and with the provisions of this Chapter and of the State of California, a permit may be made from the Installation described in the permit without the written approval of the Electrical Inspector.
(e) In lieu of an individual permit for each installation or alteration annually permit shall upon application therefore, be issued to any person regularly employing one or more registered Maintenance Electricians for the purpose of installing wiring or equipment in or buildings or premises owned or occupied by the Applicant for the permit. The application for this annual permit shall be made in writing to the Electrical Inspector and the name and registration number of each Maintenance Electrician employed and the local description of the premises on which the work is to be done under the permit.
(f) In the event that more than one Maintenance Electrician is employed the employer shall designate the Maintenance Electrician who shall supervise the work of the others.
(e) The Maintenance Electrician shall currently keep an accurate record in duplicate of all electrical work which has been done under the annual permit during the preceding calendar month, and such current record should be accessible to the Electrical Inspector.
(h) Within fifteen days following the end of each calendar month, the person to whom an annual permit has been issued shall transmit to the Electrical Inspector a duplicate copy of the maintenance Electrician's record of electrical work done.
(i) Submission of a false statement constitute sufficient cause for revoking any electrical permits issued

SECTION $300.36. Computation of Load Currents.
Current carrying capacity for various voltages shall be computed as follows: Line voltage between 100 and 125 volts, shall be computed as 120 volts; line voltage between 210 and 250 volts shall be computed as 240 volts. Three phase 4-wire lighting shall be computed 120-208 volts.
SECTION $300.37. Gaseous Tube Lights and Other Devices.
(a) Each fluorescent fixture, transformer-type welders, mercury vapor fixture or high voltage gas tube light or sign shall be provided fixed in lamp holder after installation which shall correctly state the manufacturer's name or trademark and the voltage, total watts and power factor. No such equipment shall be installed in which the power factor is less than 90 per cent. All above listed equipment shall have underwriter laboratory label or recognized testing laboratory label. Every such light or sign shall be effectively grounded, either by a permanent and approved metallic connection to a grounded circuit system, or by a flexible cord, one conductor of which shall be a grounding conductor connected to a separate blade of a polarized attachment cap in such manner that a grounding connection is made when such cap is inserted into a polarized plug.
(b) All Fluorescent and Slim Line Fixtures, Fixture Mounting, Fixtures containing ballasts or transformers shall be mounted not less than 1½ inches from low density cellulose fiber board or similar combustible materials unless the fixtures are approved for surface contact with such materials. Duty of the Slen Electrician hangine or installing the same to file with the Office of the Electrical Inspector on a form furnished by such office for such purpose, the following information such as:

Acceptance test shall be made at 518 South Los Angeles Street, Anaheim, except on those fixtures or signs that must be assembled at place of residence to supply emergency lights, or emergency equipment required by this Chapter, or any Code Ordinance or Order, and which service is supplied by one of the following methods:
(a) By a different serving agency than that supplying the general lighting or equipment.
(b) By a different primary main from the same premises different substation than the main supplying the general lighting or equipment.
2. Group "B" Occupancy Emergency Service shall mean an approved storage battery used exclusively to supply emergency lights, exit lights, or emergency equipment required by this Chapter and which complies with the following requirements:
(a) Has capacity to supply all such lights and equipment for one hour and still have a terminal voltage of not less than one and three quarters volts per cell.
(b) Is connected to a trickle charger located on the same premises which will maintain maximum charge when battery is not supplying energy.
(c) Is connected to a generator or rectifier located on the premises which will fully recharge it to terminal voltage of one and three quarters volts in not to exceed sixteen hours.
(d) Is maintained to comply with the foregoing requirements as long as it supplies such lights and equipment.
2. Group "B" and "E" Occupancy Emergency Service shall mean branch tau from a main service and connected thumbnail on the supply side of every service switch for such main service and which branch or tap is used exclusively to supply emergency lights, exit lights or emergency equipment required by this Chapter.
(e) In every apartment house with more than two apartments above the first floor, and in every hotel there shall be installed and kept burning from sunset to sunrise throughout the year artificial light sufficient in volume to illuminate properly every public hallway, passageway, public stairway, fire escape errands, elevator, public water-closet compartment, or toilet room.

(i) Submission of all electrical statement constitute sufficient cause for revoking any electrical permits issued under the authority of this section.
SECTION $300.47. Fees for Permits And Inspections: Penalties.
(a) Before any permit is granted for the installation or alteration of electrical equipment, the person making the application for such permit pay to the Electrical Inspection Department of City a fee in such amount as is required by this Ordinance.
(b) The fee for any additional wiring, not included in or authorized by a permit shall be the difference between the fee paid when the permit was issued and the fee for electrical wiring added to the installation by the same person or firm. After final approval has been given by the Electrical Inspection Division on an electrical permit, a new permit must be obtained for any electrical wiring installed on the same premises at a later date.
(c) Failure to take out a permit and pay therefore before commencing work shall be deemed evidence of violation of the provisions of this Ordinance. Double the amount of permit fee shall be assessed for work commencing before a permit is issued.

SECTION $300.45. Duties of Maintenance Electrician.

(b) It shall be the duty of any person employed as a Maintenance Electrician to keep a detailed and accurate record of any and all electrical work connected with existing or new installations which is done by him personally or under his supervision.

A fee of $10.00 shall be paid for each annual Maintenance Electrician Permit at the time such permit is issued. Fees for all new work installed under such permit since date of last previous inspection shall be paid, according to above schedule, at the time when such work is inspected; these fees shall be in addition to fee paid at the time of such inspection.
SECTION $300.48. Responsibility.
This Chapter shall not be construed to relieve from or lessen the responsibility of any party owning, operating, controlling or installing any electric wiring, electric devices or electric material for damages to person or property caused by any defect therein, nor shall the City be held as assuming any such liability by reason of the inspection authorized herein, or certificate of inspection issued as provided.
SECTION $300.49. Interpretation.
The language used in this Chapter and in the State Electrical Code, which is made a part of this Chapter by reference, is intended to convey the common and accepted meaning familiar to the Electrical Industry.
The Electrical Inspector is hereby authorized to interpret and determine the intent and meaning of any provision of this Chapter. Such interpretations and determinations shall be made in writing and a record kept, which record shall be open to the public.
SECTION $320.20. Radio Broadcast Receiving Apparatus. Interference.
No person shall operate any device appliance, equipment or apparatus measuring both frequency oscillations on radiations which interfere with radio broadcast receiving apparatus or wireless receiving apparatus except a person only licensed to practice medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic or dentistry in the State in the course of practice of his profession, any machinery necessary to give treatments providing however that all reasonable methods of preventing interference with radio broadcast receiving apparatus have been applied.
SECTION $320.1. Same. Exceptions.
Nothing in this Chapter shall apply to radio stations, either broadcast commercial amateur or Federal Government, or which are enforced in interstate communication, nor to public utilities under the supervision of the Public Utilities Commission.

The City Electrician shall have the right to enter upon any premises at all reasonable hours for the purpose of inspecting the installation and working of all apparatus coming within the terms of this Chapter and no machine necessary for making the inspections, or refuse to permit the City Electrician or his deputies to enter the premises for such purposes.

No person shall sell or offer to sell or keep in stock for the purpose of sale, any electrical device, appliance or equipment, for use in the City, the operation of which in the ordinary course of use will constitute a violation of this Chapter.

No person shall sell or offer to sell or keep in stock for the purpose of sale, any electrical device, appliance or equipment, for use in the City, the operation of which in the ordinary course of use will constitute a violation of the terms of this Chapter.
The enforcement of this Chapter be placed in the hands of the City Electrician, who is given power to deputise one or more persons, to assist in such duties.
When an inspection and test is made by the City Electrician, and it is found that any device coming within the terms of this Chapter is being operated in violation of this Chapter, the owner will be required to use. Before such operation, within forty-eight hours after notice has been served, either entirely discontinue the use, or repair the same, or attach silencing device thereto, so that it complies with the provisions of this Chapter.
Frequency of Sixty Cycles Required.
All electrical equipment, apparatus, fixtures and appliances, including gaseous tube lighting equipment, installed within the City, and purchased or secured for installation or use within the City, shall be of a type which will operate on a frequency of sixty cycles, in the case where any equipment, apparatus, fixtures, appliances, including gaseous tube lighting equipment, so installed, purchased or secured, is of a type other than that described in the immediate preceding sentence, the City shall not be liable for the payment of costs connected with altering the same for service at a frequency of sixty cycles.
The term "within the City" shall be deemed to mean and include all territory within the present city limits of the City and all areas of the City now or hereafter served with electric current by the City.
SECTION $320.1. Sale of Device Prohibited.
No person shall sell or offer to sell or keep in stock for the purpose of sale, any electrical device, appliance or equipment, for use in the City, the operation of which in the ordinary course of use will constitute a violation of the terms of this Chapter.
SECTION $320.4. Same Disconnect Meter.
The City Electrician is authorized to discontinue the power line from any meter through which power is furnished to any appliance, equipment or apparatus being operated in violation of the provisions of this Chapter, and the same shall not be reconnected until the apparatus has been properly shielded or altered so that operation will constitute an violation of this Chapter.
SECTION $320.5. Enforcement.

SECTION $320.7. Revocation of Approval.
Any approval granted by the City Electrician may be revoked by him if the electrical materials, devices or appliances are found to be hazardous to life and property for the purpose used or intended, or do not conform with the standards under which they were approved for use. Before such approval may be竖立 drawn by the City Electrician to give notice in writing to the person to whom approval was granted of his intention to withdraw approval and shall afford such person an opportunity to be heard with respect thereto at a public hearing to be held thereon. In the event that approval is withdrawn or modified by the City Electrician after such hearing, any person aggrieved thereby may appeal from the ruling of the City Electrician to the Council in the manner provided in this Chapter for the consideration by the Council of Appeals.
SECTION $320.8. Exceptions Materials Otherwise Covered.
The provisions of this code shall apply to all installations of electrical material, fittings, devices, appliances, fixtures, and apparatus hereafter referred to as electrical equipment, within or on public or private buildings, structures, and premises and with the following general exceptions shown in Section $320.9.
SECTION $320.9. Exceptions Vehicles.
A. The provisions of this code shall not apply to installation in ships, railway cars or automotive equipment.
B. The provision of this code shall not apply to installations used by electricity supply or communication agencies in the generation of, or transmission or distribution of electricity, or for the operation of signals of the transmission of intelligence in exercise of their function as such agencies and located outdoors or in buildings used exclusively for that purpose.
C. The provisions of this code shall not apply to electrical equipment used for radio communication than electrical equipment for radio transmission in amateur transmitting stations, and all electrical equipment used for power supply to transmitting equipment.
SECTION $320.10. Exceptions Low Voltage Devices.
Any person firm or corporation whether as principal agent, employee or otherwise violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine not more than Pete Hundred Dollars ($500), or by imprisonment in the County Judge for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by such fine and imprisonment. Such person firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of this Ordinance is committed, continued or permitted by such person firm or corporation, and shall be punishable as herein provided.
In addition to the penalties hereinafter provided, any condition caused on permitted to exist violation of any of these provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed public nuisance and may be, by this City, summarily abated as such, and each day such condition continues shall be regarded as a new and separate offense.
