The Woman's World EDITED BY DORIS ALICE LEE SECTION B—PAGE 1 BPW Group Holds Annual Family Party Gay decorations of the Christmas season was the setting for the annual family Christmas party of the Anaheim Business and Professional Women's Club held at the Elks Club Sunday evening with a 6 o'clock dinner. Many special guests and members of families were present for the enjoyable affair. Signa Hatfield, president, presided at the festivities. Main theme of the decorations was the candle arrangements on the table featuring Christmas ornaments with garlands of holly completing the table setting. Dainty white angels marked each place at the table. A large centerpiece at the head table followed along the same theme. Highlights of the festive decorations was a Christmas tree trimmed with the old-fashioned garlands of strung popcorn, cranberries and other handmade trimmings daily later were presented to the Salvation Army for use in making up their baskets. Toys were also presented to Alma Malher who has, for several years, sent Christmas items and handmade scrapbooks to an Indian orphanage in Nebraska. Members also brought canned foods which will be used in making up a couple of baskets for needy families. Committee members planning the party and making all decorations were: Signa Hatfield, Ruby Terry, Bertha Rosen, Alma Malher, Carol Wallace, Lu Hann, Ruth Turner, Letha Roberts and Norma Nipper. Entertainment was featured by several songs by the Men of Music from Fullerton Junior College and the surprise appearance of Santa Claus in the person of Rudy Pena, who later entertained at the piano with a medley of Christmas selections. Gifts were presented by Santa to all the youngsters present. Members brought toys which Western High Gets CSF Membership Western High School has become eligible, effective immediately, for membership in the California Scholarship Federation. The seal bearers of top-ranking academic students will receive special recognition at graduation and will march at the head of their class. The class of 1960 will be Western's first graduating class. Canyon Juniors Christmas Ball Held at Club The Canyon Junior Women's Club held its Candlelight Ball Saturday night at the Yorba Linda Country Club with a cocktail hour and dinner preceding. The club decor featured a large Christmas tree, and tables were decorated with golden leaves and tall white tapers in keeping with the holiday season. A fancy hat contest was judged by husbands as part of the evening's festivities. Dancing was to the music of a three-piece band. Mrs. Howard Henning, the club's first president, was chairman of the affair. Committee members helping to make it a success were the Mmes. Howard Luchau, Donald Frederickson, Leonard Yeandle and Robert Wischnack. The Rev. Earl Kernahan performed the evening service while at the organ Mrs. Rue Rockwood played the couple's favorite nuptial music. The bride is the daughter Mrs. Phyllis Stickley of Anaheim and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Turner of 1316 Merona Pl., Anaheim. Given in marriage by her uncle, William W. McKelvy, she bride entered the church wearing traditional white. Her blerina-length gown was white lace over taffeta, fashioned with bell sleeves and white satin belt. Her filmy veil was held in place with a tie. NORIOR CITIZENS AID CANCER FIGHT—The Service Group of the Santa Ana SenCitizens donate hours to the fight against cancer by doing volunteer office work in Orange County Branch of the American Cancer Society. Western High School Honor Roll Includes Straight A Students Fifteen students at Western High School have achieved straight A averages it has been revealed in the release of the first quarter honor roll. Sixtyone have achieved a grade of 3.6 or higher. ORT Group Sets Chanukah Party At a recent board meeting of the La Mirada Chapter of Women's American Ort (Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training) plans were made for the annual Chanukah Party, this year a dinner party to be held at the Royal Coach Inn, 1050 W. Valencia, Fullerton, Dec. 26, 1959, at 8 p.m. (Saturday). As is traditional, a candle lighting ceremony will be held. This is also the December turnabout meeting; that is, the husbands of the officers and committee chairmen will take over their wives' duties and conduct the meeting. Her filmy veil was nylon chiffon over taffeta accented with a large cummerbund, and she carried pink carnations on a white Bible. Eric Russell of Anaheim was bestman, while Douglas Browning and Michael Dalich of Anaheim escorted the guests to their places. Approximately 50 guests signed the guest book which was circulated later by Miss Jennifer Larson. The newlyweds are both graduates of Anaheim High School, and the bridegroom is a student at San Diego State College. Royal Neighbors Install Officers Installation of new officers and exchange of Christmas SOCIAL BRIEFSE The American Legion Audi-lary held a potluck supper and Christmas party in the Legion hall which included a gift exchange and games following a short business meeting. Walt Disney School presented its Christmas program, "The Magi's Gift," in the school's multipurpose room. The regular PTA meeting was cancelled for the event. A dinner preceded by community singing highlighted the Christmas party held by the Optimists and Opti-Mrs. In the Optimist clubhouse recently. The Men of Music from Fullerton Junior College entertained. The Arnold Caynors, the D. B. Johnstons, the John M.
