ARCHITECTS DRAWING of the United States National Bank's new branch in Santa Ana which is being opened today.
Friendly Atmosphere Prevails In U.S. Bank’s Santa Ana Branch
One of the most interesting features in the new U.S. National Bank building in Santa Ana is the achievement of a "Friendly" atmosphere, tying in with the institution's traditional policy of friendly banking.
Basic theme for the bank's design is colonial, utilizing generous amounts of Arizona flagstone, terrazzo and New Orleans wrought iron.
Most of the 10,000 square feet of the bank's floors are carpeted. The area immediately in front of the teller's line is terrazo. Bank fixtures and railings are of natural finished mahogany. The curved teller's counter features a tufted leather die (front of the counter), wood facings and marble top. Roscoe Dietrich is manager of the new bank.

The second floor is devoted to restroom facilities, employees and administrative offices.
The winner, it has been revealed, will be the recipient of a fine present, namely a sample of the bank's merchandise.
Phenomenal Growth
"The U.S. National Bank has been able to put together a deposit-growth record over the past ten years which truly is phenomenal." So stated an economic research report by Woolrych, Currier & Carlson, members of the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange.
The U.S. National Bank of San Diego was formed 46 years ago, in 1913, by Louis J. Wilde, one-time Mayor of San Diego. It is operated as a national bank under the director of the comproiler of currency in Washington, D.C. In addition to the normal banking operations of most banks the U.S. National has a well-staffed trust department.
In 1933, control of the bank was purchased by a group of local residents for approximately 600 pupils in Centralia School district will be provided with an eighth school to be built at 320 Danbrook Ave. south of Lincoln in Anaheim.
The State Allocations board has approved granting state aid following a hearing in Sacramento which Glen H. Dysinger, Sr., superintendent, and Palmer G. Campen, assistant superintendent of business, attended.
The two men appeared before the board in August to explain need for the newest plant which will relieve overcrowding at Centralia and Mira Linda schools and eliminate necessity of children having to cross Lincoln avenue.
At that time, the board approved six elementary classrooms, two kindergartens, two special training rooms and an administration unit. Approved at the second meeting was additional

The bank's new office in Santa Ana (fifth opened in Orange County since 1954) is on public display from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Refreshments are being served during the open house. Presents of floating Christmas candles are being given out to all in attendance.
An intriguing contest is scheduled in the new bank lobby. Viewers will be asked when a large Christmas candle will burn out.
