Anaheim Y's men expect a record in Christmas tree sales at the club's new location at Euclid and Crescent Ave., according to Jerry Wells, Anaheim Y's Men's Club president.
A large lot with a wide selection of trees at standard prices is now open, Wells stated. All proceeds make possible camperships, athletic equipment and other benefits to youth, largely through the Anaheim YMCA.

Fullerton Library Subsidy Boosted
Hunts Food & Industries Foundation has upped its donation to $200,000 and tossed in four acres of land for construction of a branch library for West Fullerton. The library site will be a park, cultural and community center as well as the library and is due for completion within 24 months.
Originally, the Hunt Foundation pledged $130,000 to start the project, but raised the amount when library plans were enlarged. The city has acquired three acres for the library site from the Elementary School District, which, with the land donated by Hunt, will provide a park and library site of from six
Countywide Park System Is Urged By W. B. Stonach
Need for a countywide recreation park system is stressed in a letter which William B. Stronach, Jr., director of the Anaheim Parks and Recreation Department, has sent to county officials, including the Board of Supervisors, and County Planning Commission.
The Associated Chambers of Commerce of Orange County has already referred a resolution to the Board of Supervisors urging establishment of a regional park system. Supervisor William Hirstein has been directed to study the proposal and make recommendations to the board.
Stronach, in his communication, describes efforts of a 31-member Citizens' Committee which recently made an exhaustive analysis of Anaheim's present and future park and recreation needs.
Acquisition Program
In addition to documenting a comprehensive $7,871,000 land acquisition and development program designed to fill Anaheim's present and future recreational needs, the committee urged the county take immediate steps to acquire suitable park and recreational sites while they still are available.
Stronach recounted Anaheim's efforts in establishing a first rate park system. Anaheim currently is in process of acquiring 212.5
Originally, the Hunt Foundation pledged $130,000 to start the project, but raised the amount when library plans were enlarged. The city has acquired three acres for the library site from the Elementary School District, which, with the land donated by Hunt, will provide a park and library site of from six to seven acres.
The proposed library-park will be located to the east of the Hunt Foods and Industries general offices on Valencia Dr.
NO CARS?
Several railroad presidents predict that railroad passenger service is on the way out. And other forms of transportation, including private cars, are becoming so increasingly expensive that the time may come when people will have to stop going anywhere beyond walking distance.
Stronach recounted Anaheim's efforts in establishing a first rate park system. Anaheim currently is in process of acquiring 212.5 acres of land at a cost of $1,400,000 and will expend more than $6,500,000 for site and structural development.
Garden Grove, Fullerton, Buena Park, Orange, La Habra and other municipalities are taxing their resources to provide recreational services.

Aggressive Policies
In commenting on the new policy move, R. A. Young, president of T.G.&Y., said, "We believe that there is a growing need in California for a straightforward variety store operation with a more complete line of merchandise than is provided by other types of merchants who carry only the fast-turn variety items."
"We are already recognized as national leaders in variety store advertising and promotion," Young added, "and we plan to be equally aggressive in our California development program." He also indicated that merchandising would be geared to California needs.
Don Roland, regional vice president, previously in charge of the Tulsa district, will be responsible for the California and Arizona areas. In 1959 the sales volume for T.G.&Y. stores now in operation is expected to exceed $37 million.
