A6 - Anaheim Gazette (Anaheim, California, Oct. 15, 1959) Herlands Named As Munv Judae Herbert S. Herlands, Fullerton attorney, will preside over the newly-created Municipal Court for the judicial district embracing Anaheim, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia and Brea. Appointment of Judge Herlands, 42, now senior attorney for Hunt Foods, Inc., in Fullerton, was announced by Governor Edmund G. Brown at Sacramento. Herlands, who served briefly as a consultant for the Economic Stabilization Agency in Washington, D. C., is a member of the Orange County Democratic Central Committee. He was law secretary to U.S. District Court Judge William Bondy until entering the Air Force in 1942, rising to captain and legal officer in the latter. Judge Herlands was graduated with a law degree from Columbia University Law School after his undergraduate days at the City College of New York. He came to California with the Hunt Corp., in 1953 and was admitted to the bar the same year. He is married and has three children. Demos Are Named For Vital Posts Democratic Central Committee peps up Orange County brethren with numerous appointments, all pleasing to "the faithful." Herbert Eggett, Anaheim, resident of the Anaheim Democrat Club fills vacancy on committee left by Pat Michaels moved from Orange County. Tom Woods, associated with the Garden Grove Daily, News, fills the vacancy on the committee left by William Stafford of Westminster. Two of the vacancies, incurred by resignations of William Lee, Costa Mesa, and Herbert, Herlande, fullerton, remained to be filled. Lee and Herlands have been rewarded with judgeships in their respective communities. Mrs. Hazel Lewis, member of the committee, has been named by Governor Edmund G.
