WESTERN PACIFIC (FHTNC) Following a recreational cruise in the Japanese Inland Sea from July 23-30, Navy Lt Cdr. Chester L. Klein, son of Mrs. Alice G. Klein of 1775 Tiarra St., Anaheim, and husband of the former Miss Patricia L. McMahon of Lawrence, Kans., and Kenneth A. Howland, airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl B. Howland of 2116 Victoria Ave., Anaheim, serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Lexington, have returned to duty with the U.S. Seventh Fleet in the Western Pacific and continued participation in this summer's Far East midshipmen training.
During the nine-day inland sea voyage, two ports-of-call were visited.
Lwakuno, the first, afforded tours to Hiroshima, nearby national parks, beaches and natural hot springs. Beppu, on the island of Kyuuhu, presented famous resort hotels, mineral spring baths, tours of volcanic deposits, golf courses, swimming, boating and the unusual "Furosan Bath", which consists of laying under a layer of steam-heated sand:
FORT MONMOUTH, N. J. (AHTNC) — Army 1st Lt. Robert F. Hall, Jr., 29, whose parents live at 1911 E. Center St., Anaheim, completed the officer advanced course July 31 at The Signal School, Fort Monmouth, N.J.
Lieutenant Hall received training in the duties and responsibilities of a field grade Signal Corps officer.
Hall entered the Army in 1948 after graduating from Ajo (Ariz.) High School.
PACIFIC FLEET (FHTNC) — Charles W. Wiseman, radarman seaman apprentice, USN, son of Mrs. Keith Pewitt of 10202 Perdido, Anaheim, is serving aboard the Pacific Fleet attack aircraft carrier USS Oriskany.
He reported aboard July 30, from the Treasure Island Naval Station, San Francisco, Calif.
NORFOLK, Va. (FHTNC) Charles K. Markham, electric mate fireman, USN, son of and Mrs. Harold A. Markham, 702 N. Olive, Anaheim, is ing aboard the destroyer USS New operating out of folk, Va.
On Aug. 7, the ship commenced a six-week midshipmen cruise off the North Atlantic coast.
The midshipmen boarded New, June 23, and worked side the crew gaining experience in gunnery and gation. This training help pare them for their future as junior officers.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FHTNC) Bruce E. Duncan, seaman son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. of 9532 Colchester St., Ariz., serving aboard the attack ship USS Skagil, returned Diego, Calif., July 19, after week cruise to Acapulco for orientation and training.
Renowned as the "Fish Paradise," Acapulco offers many sightseeing tours as spectacular diving exhibitions a high cliff into a very water.

the Hughes Aircraft Co., in Fulferton before entering the Army
cast March.

14, after a six-month tour of
