The City Council is following up on the request for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities transportation, including power, and water, and performing all necessary to construct and connect in a good and workmanlike manner in strict accordance with the applicable plans and drawings the city has the license of the Clerk or Engineer of the City of Anaheim, the following pencil provement, to-wit: The improvement of Sycamore Street from Button Street to Olive Street, by excavation including removal of existing rials, construction of 4-inch plan surfacing, including paint binder weed killer, adjusting existing bolts and existing water valve to grade, installation of standard die boards, and appurtenant work indicated on the plans. Project 76, and shall be tabulated by the Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its regular or adjourned regular meeting for action thereon by said City clerk.
*URSUANT* to the provision Section 1770 of the Labor Code City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general pricing rate of wages in the local which this type of work is to be formed for each type of work needed to execute this contract hourly wage scale so ascertain as follows:

VICE INSUTING SEALED PROBLES FOR FURNISHING ALL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND WORKING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY.
FOR THE SERVICE OF THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE FOLLOWING IMPROVEMENT OR WORK: IMPROVEMENT OF SYCAE STREET FROM BUTTON-AND STREET TO OLIVE STREET, REJECT NO. 76.
NOTICE IS RERESEVEN that proposals will be received by City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. on the 30th day of 1959, and will be opened on date at the hour of 2:00 o'clock in public, in the City Council chamber, plans and drawings therefor file in the office of the City Clerk or City Engineer of the City Anaheim, the following public improvement: for this improvement, you may purchase street from Buttonwood Street to Olive Street, by excavation, leading removal of existing materials, construction of 4-inch plant-mixing, including paint binder and kilner, adjusting existing manure and water valve covers work shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight Eighteen hours shall constitute a day's work being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rate of overtime and holiday shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval time to be 6:00 o'clock Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958, revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.P.F., CLO., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates of wages to all laborers, workers and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bid shall be made out on a formatted objection to the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check or bid bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 1:00 o'clock on the 30th day of 1959, at which time proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in the upper left hand corner "Sealed proposals for construction of THE IMPROVEMENT OF SYCAE-MORE STREET, PROJECT NO. 76." together with the name and address of the biddener. The above mentioned guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract awarded to him, will be declared invalid if said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after receipt by each bid must specify the name and location of the mill, shop or offices of each subcontractor who perform work or labor or require services to the contractor in order to construct the work or prove it and provide such bid agrees to perform the work which will be done by each subcontractor. The successful bidder will be quired to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal 100% of the contract price and labor and material bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and sold bonds to be secured from surety or bonding company satisfied by the City Council of Anaheim for the sum of five ($5.00) dollars if picked up at said offices, or sum six ($6.00) dollars if ordered by mail.
The successful bidder will be quired to continuously maintain a quote protection until all work adjacent property from damage ing out of the performance bond is removed.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Non-collusion Affidavit, copies of which may be obtained from the City Clerk.
The successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any bid or give any informality to the present permitted by law, and reserves the further right to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder found and determined to serve the best interests of the City of Anaheim.
