SAN DIEGO—Harry C. Jordan, radarman second class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Jordan of 906 Kenmore Ave., and husband of the former Miss Alma L. Bridges of Garden Grove, aboard the destroyer USS John R. Craig.
Larry J. Corbitt, fireman apprentice, USN, son of Mrs. Martha Smith of 213 E. Mills Dr., aboard the destroyer USS Mansfield, and Clyde R. Sharrock, chief aviation machinist's mate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Sharrock of 1203 Adele Street, Anaheim, attached to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 8, took part in an anti-submarine warfare exercise from February 16-19, off the coast of southern California. "Skynet," formed of vessels of the U.S. First Fleet and several units of the Naval Reserve, was divided into two teams: the "Blue" defenses and the "Purple" aggressors.
The Blue surface and air forces were seeking to prevent the Purple force submarines from breaking through a 600-mile seaward barrier off the coast. The exercise was conducted under the operational control of Vice Admiral R. E. Libby, the Commander of the First Fleet.
WESTERN PACIFIC—Donald L. Hibbs, hospital corpsman second class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Hibbs of 1258 N. Evergreen St., Anaheim, is serving aboard the fleet officer USS Kawishiwi, operating with the U.S. Seventh Fleet in the western Pacific.

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.-Marine 1st Lt., Jack C. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Thompson of 10502 Chamberlain Dr., Anaheim, took part in the 18th anniversary celebration of the 2nd Marine Division recently at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Formed in San Diego, Calif., Feb. 1, 1941, the Division during the week, held day-long activities highlighted with a full scale parade and special meals in the mess hall. The parade's Reviewing Officer was Lt. Gen. E. A. Pollock, USMC, Commanding General; Fleet Marine Force Atlantic.
The Division, which trains year-round to fulfill its role as a force in-readiness, has been based at Camp Lejeune since 1946.
