Addressing his remarks to the governing board at the regular meeting on November 3rd, Nerison gave a complete progress report upon the building program. Mattie Lou Maxwell School The Mattie Lou Maxwell School addition is being rapidly completed, with occupancy by the district on about Thanksgiving. This project included seven classrooms, two rooms, especially designed for the education of mentally retarded boys and girls, a multi-purpose room, school office space, nurse space, relocation of one kindergarten room, along with miscellaneous site provisions. Administration Center The district's administrative center is also rapidly being finished, with occupancy probable early in January, Nerison announced. School Number Six School Number Six, yet unnamed, is out for bid, with bidding to be completed and awarded on November 17. School Six is located on Dale Avenue, near the intersection of West Broadway, in Anaheim. The first increment at this school is composed of 12 classrooms, two kindergartens, and office space, along with miscellaneous site improvements. New School Site The district's eighth school site has been selected by the board of trustees and efforts are under way toward acquisition of the property. The site is just north of Lincoln Avenue, approximately a quarter-mile west of Brookhurst Street, Nerison said. Clocks in the Washington D.C., railway terminal are set two minutes fast to help travelers to catch their trains. The Natural Tunnel, on the Southern Railway in Virginia, is believed to be the only one in such use. It is 1,557 feet in length.
