THE RAINS WILL COME Harold Behrns, local Telephone Co. construction foreman is reading the meters of our new compressor-dehydrator system, which was recently installed in Anaheim. It helps protect the 350 miles of telephone cable now serving the Anaheim area. It may seem a little strange to worry about rainy weather, with the present heat wave, but the work being done now, will protect your telephone service when the rain does come. Of course rain isn't the only problem. Fog when allowed to enter telephone cables can also cause your telephone to be out of service. The compressor dehydrator feeds "dry air" into each cable. The meters tell us if there is break in the cable cover. When a break does occur, the dry air protects the cable until it can be repaired.
