NOTICE INVOLING DEALLED PROPOSals FOR FURNISHING ALL MATERIALS, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND IMPURING ALL WORK NEEDS OF THE CONSTRUCTION INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEM OR THE FOLLOWING U.S. IMPROVEMENTS:
IMPROVEMENT OF THE IMPROVEMENT AT SOUTH AND LEMON STREETS, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SOUTH STREET, AND NO. 44L.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. At the late city of Anaheim, and will be opened on date at the hour of 2:00 P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, state of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the building.
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and compete in a good and workmanlike manner, with strict accord with specifications and drawings theresor on the site in the presence of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to assist the improvement of the intersection at south and lemon streets, on the north side of south street, by the opening or a storm drain, repairing curb and sidewalk, paving, and appurtenant work as indicated on the plan, Job No. 441, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by said City Council.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality within which this work is performed for each type of worker needed to execute this contract. The following hourly wage scale so ascertained is as follows:

Black To enter into said contract articulates requirements to do so by the City councilman should contact sheriff's office nearest to the location of the contract agreement to notify the contractor or tender service to the contractor or tender service to the construction or design department and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. It may not substitute any special subcontractor as a substitute for the contractor submitting such agrees to perform the work minimum.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory bond in an amount equal to any of the contract price and a minor and material bond in an amount equal to 10% of the contract price, said bouncy bond secured from a safety or bonding contract satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as form and sufficiency before acceptance.
Plans and specifications may be obtained from the City engineer of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, Anaheim, California for the sum of give and no/any dollars it picked up at said offices, or for the sum of six and no/any (66.96) dollars if forwarded by mail.
The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising out of the performance of the contract and from the city with public liability insurance against amount not less than $400,000.00 for injuries including accidental death or any one person, $400,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $500,000.00, and public liability insurance in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for injuries to any one person or any one accident, and property damage in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for injuries to any one person or any one accident.
The successful bidder should be responsible that all employees of subcontractors are protected by such insurance. Such insurance shall be not less than two companies satisfactory to the City Attorney as to term and sufficiency.
The successful bidder and any subcontractor and contractors employed by him in the performance of said work only for the work of said company shall be used only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been mined or produced in the United States, and only such manufactured articles, materials and supplies as have been manufactured in Western Pacific — Leonard E. Health and Welfare payments shall be made in accordance with the southern California Master Labor Agreement.
All foremen, unless separately classified, be paid as provided in the May 19th review of the A.G.C.A.R.C.A., H.H.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.C.U.D., Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Apprentices may be employed in conjunction with Section 1775.5 of the California Labor Code.
The rates per diem wages for each of the rates prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be the minimum of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift work without continuous employment except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 6:00 to 9:00 PM each day.

EIGHT HOURS SHALL CONTAIN A DAY'S WORK, AND THEREFORE THE EVENT OF EIGHT HOURS PER PER DEMIWAGE SHALL BE THAT FRACTION OF THE PER DEMIWAGE HEREIN ESTABLISHED THAT THE NUMBER OF HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT Bears TO EIGHT HOURS.
THE LATEST EDITION CONTAINS THE RULES OF OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work being Monday and continuing through Friday. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 edition of the G.C.A., H.B.L., E.G.C.A., A.F.L., CLO, Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract awarded and the subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bid shall be made out on a form obtained in the office of the City Clerk of the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bond for ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Anaheim and should be sealed at the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of September, 1958, at which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clark and the City Engineer. Sealed proposals are submitted and approved marked in the upper left hand corner "Sealed proposals for construction of THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE INTERSECTION AT SOUTH AND LEMON STREETS, JOB NO. 414," together with the name address and location above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded to him, and will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder.
