LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMING ALL WORK DESIGNARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INSTALLATION AND COMPLETION WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS ON PLASTICS AND OFFICES OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY ANAHEIM OF THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT OR WORK: PUBLIC REST ROOM FACILITIES IN LA PALMA STADIUM AT LA PALMA PARK, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, JOB NO. 438. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 21st day of August, 1958, and will be opened on a date and time specified in the o'clock P.M., in public, in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, State of California, by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, for furnishing the following: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in good and conditionable manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer, the following public improvement: The construction Rest Room Facilities in La Palma Stadium at La Palma Park for the City of Anaheim, consisting of a 2600 sq. ft. in area, single story concrete block masonry building with concrete slab floor and framing of and interior wall construction, plaster finishes, sheet metal work, composition roofing, ceramic tile millwork and wood cabinets, toilet partitions, plumbing, electrical and all appurtenant work indicated on the plans, Job No. 438, and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting. AUGUST 1883 The supervisors give notice that the court house property will be offered for sale at public auction on August 25. They reserve the right to withdraw the property at any time before the sale is employment bears to eight hours. Such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the base rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision of the A.C.C., B.O.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.E.F.-C.O.S., Southern California Master Labor Agreements. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon subcontractor under him to pay not less than specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer. and shall be tabulated by the City Engineer and the result thereof Ported to the City Council at its next regular or adjourned regular meeting, for action thereon by said City Council. Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City Clerk or the City Engineer of the City of Anaheim and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier for payment (10% per cent of the amount of the made payable to the City of Anaheim, and shall be sealed and delivered to the City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Anaheim before clock P.M. on the 21st day of August, 1958, which time sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and the City Engineer, Sealed proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked in the upper left hand corner of PUBLIC BEST PROJECTS IN LA PALMA PARK AT LA PALMA PARK, JOB NO. 428*, together with the name and address of the bidder. The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will receive a contract award to him, and will be deemed felted if entered into said contract after being requested to do so by the City of Anaheim. Such contract shall be entered into within fifteen (15) days after the receipt by such contractor of notice of the awarding of that contract unless such time is extended by the City of Anaheim. Each bid must specify the name and location of the mill shop or office of each subcontractor who will perform services to the construction in order to the construction of the work or improvement and the portion of the work which will be done by each subcontractor. If any bid submitted fails to specify a subcontractor as allowed, the contractor submitting such bid agrees to perform the work himself. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and as a material bond in an amount equal to the cost of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from a surety or bond company satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Anaheim and shall be approved by the City Attorney as to form and sufficiency before acceptance. Plains and specifications may be obtained from the City Engineer or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at the City Hall, Anaheim, California, for the sum of Five and no/100 ($5.00) Dollars if picked up ahead of time or for six months of Six and no/100 ($4.00) Dollars if forwarded by mail. The successful bidder will be required to continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage arising from accidental damage in case of unanticipated contract and to furnish the City with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $100,000.00 for injuries including accidental death of any one person; $300,000.00 on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in case of unanticipated injury less than $60,000.00 and public liability insurance to cover vehicles used by him whether on or off the premises in an amount of $50,000.00 for injuries to any one person or $100,000.00 for any one accident, and property damage in an amount of $10,000.00 and employer's liability insurance, shall be not a breath of wind or a fleck of flying sand disturbed the serviceinity of Anaheim, although the sky was for a time darkened with whirling sand on all sides. Riehard Gilman of Placentia last week sold twenty acres of Valencia orange orchard land at Placentio to Hiram E. Wanamaker of Syracuse, N. Y., for $40,000, being at the rate of $2000 per acre. This is believed to be the largest price ever paid for orchard land in California. Mr. Gilman retains large holdings of similar land at Placentia, but will move to Pasadena, where he will erect a handsome home and permanently reside. The Pacific Implement Company will in the near future occupy new quarters on the corner of Los Angeles and Chartres streets. Fritz Ruhman will erect a large and commodious building for the firm. The Chinatown buildings will be razed and the corner ornamented with a substantial building. 5 - Anaheim Gazette Miss Marie Kaiser, who left last month for Switzerland, writes friends here that she arrived home safely after a pleasant trip across the Atlantic.
