MARYLAND EGGS: TOMATO SAUCE AND RICE
Ingredients:
2 C. water
1 tsp. salt
1 C. uncooked white rice
1 tbsp. grated onion
¼ C. water
¼ tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 C. American cheese, gravy
5 to 6 eggs, depending on sizes
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
¼ C. dry, not toasted, coarse bread crumbs
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
Method: Put water, salt rice in 2-qt. saucepan. Bring vigorous boil over high heat. Heat low. Cover with lid and immer 14 minutes. Remove sauce from heat but leave lid on minutes. Stir onion, water Tabasco sauce into rice. Spread over greased glass baking about 12 in. by 8 in. by 2 Sprinkle with half of chute. Make depressions in rice texture. Break an egg into each pression and sprinkle each salt and pepper. Pour on tom sauce and sprinkle with bcrumbs, then with cheese. Butter or margarine over Bake in pre-heated 425°F. 15 to 18 minutes for soft and about 20 minutes for eggs. Serve immediately.
Recipe makes 5 to 6 serving.

RYLAND EGGS: TOMATO SAUCE AND RICE
INGREDIENTS:
C. water
tsp. salt
C. uncooked white rice
tbsp. grated onion
C. water
tsp. Tabasco sauce
C. American cheese, grated into 6 eggs, depending on serving size
tsp. salt
tsp. black pepper
8 oz. can tomato sauce
C. dry, not toasted, coarse and crumbs
tbsps. butter or margarine method: Put water, salt and in 2-qt. saucepan. Bring torous boll over high heat. Turn low. Cover with lid and simmer 14 minutes. Remove saucepan heat but leave lid on 10 minutes. Stir onion, water and casco sauce into rice. Spread greased glass baking dish at 12 in. by 8 in. by 2 in. knickle with half of cheese.
DEPRESSIONS IN RICE MIX:
Break an egg into each deposition and sprinkle each with and pepper. Pour on tomato paste and sprinkle with bread cubes, then with cheese. Cut or margarine over top.
IN PRE-heated 425°F, oven to 18 minutes for soft eggs about 20 minutes for firm servings.
Serve immediately. This recipe makes 5 to 6 servings.

3 eggs separated
Method: Put rice, water and salt in 2-qt. saucepan. Bring to vigorous boil over high heat. Turn heat low, cover with lid. Simmer 14 minutes. Stir milk and corn meal into rice. Cook over medium heat, stirring until milk is absorbed and mixture thickens.
Add butter or margarine and cool slightly. Beat the egg yolks and stir into rice mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; then fold into rice mixture. Place in greased 2-quart baking dish. Bake in pre-heated 400 degree F. oven about 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. The top will be very brown. Lower heat if top becomes too brown before mixture is done in center. Serve immediately with butter or margarine. Hot maple or brown sugar syrup is delicious, too. This recipe makes 8 servings.
AUGSBURG, GERMANY—Pvt. Pvt. Thomas S. Pine II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy I Chambers, 1274 E. California Pl., Anaheim, recently arrived in Germany and is now a member of the 11th Airborne Division.
Chambers, a mechanic in Headquarters and Rear Support Company of the division's 711th Maintenance Battalion, entered the Army in June 1957 and completed basic training at Fort Ord, Calif.
