The Gentle Art of Kissing
Know why men like up to kiss a new bride? It's from an old English belief that whoever kisses the bride after the ceremony—but before the husband—will have good luck for a year.
In the language of flowers,
"mistletoe" means "kiss me". From an ancient Norse legend about a god, Balder, shot with a mistletoe arrow. He was restored to life by Frigga's tears, which turned into white mistletoe berries—a symbol of love.
An Abyssinian would be shocked at a lip-to-lip contact. He expresses his love by kneeling down and kissing the ground in front of his beloved.
The modern moldnn, with an eye to her comfort—and complexion—likes her knight to hove a smooth skin. Like the kind you get with a fast rotary speed shaver, for example.
MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Marine Pfc. James D. Markowitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Markowitz of 812 Redondo Dr., W., Anaheim, graduated from the Helicopter Mechanics School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. Graduates of the school are trained to maintain and repair Marine Corps helicopters.
GUESTS AT ORANGE
Local Optimist Club members and their wives will be guests of the Orange Optimists this evening, Thursday, at a special meeting of that group. The dinner meeting is to be held at Meldor Restaurant in N. Glassell. At the last meeting of the local club, Fenner Chambers showed a large number of colored films which he made in Mexico last summer while he and his family were on vacation. They drove more than 5000 miles and had many beautiful pictures making up their travelogue.
